Belmont Pizzeria — Restaurant in Richmond

This is a great neighborhood pizza place that punches way above its weight to be one of Richmond's best pizzerias. I'm positively smitten with their pizza crust.

My wife and I each got a pizza, hers one of the specialty pizzas from the menu, mine a custom pie. There was a great balance of ingredients to sauce to cheese to crust. I know that sounds like a bare minimum for pizza, but there is artistry in getting it right.

However, the biggest surprise was the spinach and artichoke dip. I say without reservation, hesitation, or second thought that it's the best spinach and artichoke dip I've ever had. I don't know what cheese or cheeses they use in it, but it was perfect. It came with breadsticks made from their pizza dough which was great. I wish it came with more, but that's less nitpicking and more selfish gluttony on my part.

One note. This pizza does not reheat well. I heated up slices of my wife's pizza and my own in the oven and mine was adequate, but hers became almost impossibly crunchy. The spinach and artichoke dip reheated very well, though, and some tortilla chips were a decent substitute for the breadsticks, not for flavor, but as a dip delivery vehicle.

The pricing is actually pretty good. For a really good pie with quality ingredients and hand-made dough, it's perfectly reasonable. We will definitely eat...

This place has been our go to for pizza the past couple of years, but unfortunately last night was a horrible experience. We decided to just try a couple of appetizers and all share them. When we got home we were missing 2 out of the 5 items we ordered. I immediately called the store when we got home and let them know we were missing some things. The girl that answered the phone said she would have to put her manager on the phone. She clearly doesn’t know what a hold button is, because I could hear her whole conversation with her manager. She was extremely rude (mind you I’ve dealt with her in the past and I always thought she was rude) but she told him “I don’t know what this girl on the phone is talking about, she ordered appetizers and she clearly got all of them but she’s saying she’s missing things and she just doesn’t know what she’s talking about.” So the manager gets on the phone and asks what we’re missing. He then asks me if I opened all the containers in the bag, because he did not believe us. He said his cooks told him they checked the bag and everything was in there. I would not have been calling if all the items were in the bag. He was extremely reluctant and rude, but he finally said he would remake the items. Poor poor customer service to accuse the...

The worst experience yet. First of all when my wife and i walked in the place the 2 cashiers were on there phones and we actually greeted them to get there attention, that should've been my sign to turn back around and walk out but my wife was telling me good things about this place because she works near by and they cater to her job. my wife and I ordered 2 regular slices and 1 spinach slice. When they came out my wife's spinach slice was basically a regular slice that looked like its been sitting there half the day with ricotta slapped on it and spinach, My 2 regular slices also looked like old slices that were reheated a couple times, cheese had burnt marks, I asked the girl at the regiister about it she said shed get me a fresh one to go, when i got to the car and opened the box there was another old reheated card board slice in it and i threw it in the trash. The worst part about it was that I paid 15 dollars for this disappointment. Dont know how the owner has cooks like this they should be embarrased to serve pizza like this. Reccomendations are to not go there but if you do do not order by the slice because you will get reheated pizza that was probably made...
