Giving this two stars because the service was terrible. The food was awesome and I loved the casual atmosphere. I would consider going back here if the service was to improve.
When we arrived there was a woman standing on the sidewalk getting her hair cut by her friend in front of us. Turns out that was our waitress.
We were not greeted when we entered and stood awkwardly for about 4 minutes before the bartender beckoned us to sit anywhere. We went to the cleanest looking table which we still had to wipe down ourselves as there was dust all over it and there was no sight of our waitress. After about 10 minutes our waitress appeared and then took my husband’s drink order without asking me what I wanted. She was in such a hurry she just assumed I wanted the same thing as him. When she came back with waters and I asked for a sweetened iced tea, she brought me unsweetened iced tea.
It took a really long time to get our food orders in because our waitress spent most of her time hanging out at a table outside, which I believe was occupied by a group of her friends. When I finally did get my order she promised to bring ketchup but then never did.
I recommend sitting at the bar. The bartender seemed a lot more attentive to their patron. Otherwise, you’re...
Read moreBased on the last visit to the Franklin Inn, I tried the recent Thursday special, a Cajun Chicken Sandwich served with Home Made fries. I have to say, it was the best Cajun Chicken Sandwich I have tasted and I'm more than surprised to have tasted it here of the many places out there. The bread was soft with a buttery layer added on the outside. Tomatoes and lettuce, a classic combination, yet crisp and extremely fresh. Served on top an aioli spread, the well marinated chicken breast was piping hot. The smell the moment it left the kitchen hit me and my coworker like a semi truck and even more satisfying was the first bite! The chicken was so juicy inside, but perfectly cooked. The outer layer of the chicken snapped splendidly. No other way to explain the happiness I felt eating it. I am even more regretful that I was in such a hurry to eat it, I could not take a picture. I would absolutely return here for that amazing Cajun Chicken...
Read moreI’ve wanted to try this place for brunch for awhile. We got there around noon, and got seated immediately. Our waitress took awhile to come to us, then we had to wait on coffee. The coffee was a bit weak. After ordering, she wrote up the specials on the board, which was frustrating because it’s something I would have much preferred but she didn’t tell us about them. Then we waited forever for the food. I got the corned beef hash, and it was seriously only meat, potatoes and eggs. There was no seasons, no pepper or onions. We asked what happened to the veggies, and she eventually brought us out a side dish of the veggies. It expensive for a flavorless meal that took awhile to get. Not the best...
