My recent visit was nothing short of spectacular, and here's why: Upon entering, you’re greeted by a lively, casual atmosphere that sets the perfect tone for a relaxed yet exciting dining experience. The menu offers a delightful array of options catering to all tastes. I indulged in the Brew House Burger, which was an absolute treat. The crispy smoked bacon, cheddar, and onion strings, complemented by the Carolina gold BBQ sauce, created a flavor explosion. The juicy patty, cooked to perfection, was nestled in a soft toasted brioche bun. Paired with their signature onion strings, crispy and seasoned just right, it was a meal to remember. My partner opted for the Sourdough Patty Melt, which didn’t disappoint. The crispy smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, and caramelized onions on perfectly toasted sourdough was a savory delight. The richness of the flavors was balanced and satisfying. For the kids, the B3 Sliders were a hit. These mini burgers, with cheddar and grilled onions, were perfect for their smaller appetites but full of flavor. They also enjoyed the cheesy fries, which were a cheesy, gooey, delightful mess that they couldn't get enough of. We started our meal with the Boulevard Crispy Pickles. These buttermilk-battered dill pickle chips were crispy, tangy, and paired wonderfully with the creamy ranch dip. It is an absolute must-try appetizer! The selection of craft beers is impressive, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Fat Tire beer. It was the perfect complement to my meal, refreshing and flavorful. One of the standout aspects of Boulevard Burger & Brew is its inclusive and welcoming vibe, especially for the LGBTQ+ community. The staff and atmosphere are amicable and supportive, making it a comfortable space for everyone. This establishment values diversity and inclusion, which adds to the overall positive experience. I like to start of any review but mentioning the positives if there were any: Food was good, not great but good. Ordered: G2 burger (pink) with side of fries and Kelly's Favorite (pink) add bacon. 1 Diet Coke Total: $27.05

And now that's out of the way the negatives: I went here on my lunch hour with my husband today from the gate things did not start off well. We were seated at a high top table near the bar which isn't my favorite kind of seating but whatever (not a true negative). The bar tender was supposed to be our waitress which is the worst kind of waitress. A bar tender should tend bar, being a waitress requires that you attend to your customers which she can not do if she is standing behind the bar mixing drinks. It took her over 5 minutes (I timed it because I am on lunch) to even acknowledge that we were setting there. By the time she got over to us (she did bring waters with her) we were ready to order our drinks and food. She took an additional 7 minutes to bring me my drink and the only reason that she remember to bring it was because I was holding the water she brought over in the air to look at the DIRT FLOATING IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CUP!! In the time while I waited for my drink I watched her pour and serve another employee ALCOHOL ON THE CLOCK INSTEAD OF BOTH OF THEM SERVING CUSTOMERS!!! As we waited she and other employees joked, laughed and goofed off instead of actually working. You know like cleaning which they clearly need because the cups have DIRT IN THEM!! When she brought our food over after my long awaited drink, the food order was incorrect!! My burger was missing bacon! At this point I am very annoyed. Meat was a little mushy however you can only order pink or no pink. I don't like burgers cooked to a char however I don't like them mooing still. I do not believe it was good enough to charge that kind of money when there are multiple other restaurants in the Richmond area serving burgers and fries at better quality. We ate our food and she NEVER ONCE came back to our table to check on us. Right when I was ready to ask for the check brought me a drink refill. Meaning I ate the majority of my meal thirsty!! Service is a number one make or break for any company and this place greatly lacks quality service!!! I will not be returning, if I want poor service and poorly cooked burgers I'll go to McDonald's at least they are priced for...

Disappointing Experience Despite Great Food and One Kind Staff Member

We stopped at this burger place on our way back to New York from Florida to meet up with a local friend. Knowing they closed at 9 PM on Sundays, we made sure to place our order for a little after 8 to accommodate our group of six hungry travelers—four of them being young kids.

When we arrived to pick up our food, we were greeted by a very kind woman who even helped us bring the order out to a table. It was a great start and made us feel welcome.

Unfortunately, the experience quickly took a turn. Just minutes after we sat down, a different staff member came out and very sternly told us we couldn’t sit there because the table was for dine-in customers only and proceeded to tell us we needed to move over to the picnic tables which by the way were very unstable. We had just spent over $150, and there were plenty of other empty tables, so the aggressive tone felt unnecessary and really dampened the mood. A polite explanation would have gone a long way.

To make matters worse, we later saw the same employee angrily cleaning what looked like a shake machine and loudly cussing—right in front of my eight-year-old. It was shocking and completely inappropriate behavior for a family-friendly place.

Not sure what was going on with that particular staff member, but his attitude really ruined what could have been a pleasant stop. A disappointing experience overall, especially given how much we spent and the effort we made to be considerate of their...
