I came here to leave a glowing review for Fallout after an incredible night—and was shocked to see so many negative ones! Not here to discredit anyone’s experience, but it does make me wonder if some of those folks just weren’t… “safe” people (if you know, you know).
I visited as a non-member for the Emo MCR Night after hearing about Fallout from my tattoo artist, and I’m so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the energy was welcoming and affirming. The folks at the door were kind and professional, the bartender was fantastic, and the entire vibe was just immaculate.
I didn’t try the food, so can’t speak to that—but the drinks? Chef’s kiss. I tried one of their signature cocktails, “Cat Piss” (yes, really), and it was dangerously good—couldn’t taste the alcohol at all. Also didn’t find drink prices to be unreasonable at all.
Because the space is so clearly curated to be queer- and neurodivergent-friendly, I ended up making SO many new friends just by being there. I felt safe, included, and able to just be without judgment. Honestly, that’s priceless.
If you’re looking for a nightclub where authenticity is celebrated and the alternative community is embraced, you need to check this place out. I’m already looking forward to the next chance I get...
Read moreMy first time there. Was really excited because have been seeing a bunch of events that looked cool on Facebook and haven't been out in a long time. I also worked 11 hours that day and haven't eaten for 8 so I was starving. The event pointed out get something to eat . That was another thing I like to try new places on top of that. So they were hosting something and I go in. The event was small .. that's ok and people were at bar .. I sat at bar and waited.. not one person acknowledged I was there ..not a word .. I felt really embarrassed and out of place .. the waitress or what ever walked by 2 or 3 times .. and nothing I felt really really bad and there was so few people there it would be super noticable that I walked in .. seated myself sat there and walked out .. but after like 15 mins of being ignored, literally, I couldn't take it and took the walk of shame out and went to the taco place next door. And I was in luck because they were having taco Thursdays lol .. imma try another event again down the road ..n hopefully change the rating .. but the embarrassment, awkwardness and shame, I felt was...
Read moreFull disclosure: I used to work here many years ago.
Fallout has always been my home away from home, even when I was employed there. Years ago when they first opened I stumbled into there not really knowing what to expect. I found a truly unique, welcoming, and safe nightclub environment. I have made lifelong friends here. I have countless precious memories from theme night parties here. The tips I made there helped me pay my bills while I worked my way through college.
In these difficult times, Fallout, as a business, and as a community, has worked incredibly hard to stay afloat and keep providing Richmond with a safe and welcoming environment. Although they are very limited by health restrictions currently, they are still offering excellent food and beverage options for carryout or curbside (there are limited dine in options too in concurrence with current guidelines, as I understand it).
They are also doing Sunday Brunch every week and it is DELICIOUSLY ADDICTIVE. I highly recommend you check that out!!!
