Gus' Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Richmond

The food and atmosphere were great. The service not so much. I came with my friends to eat dinner and the place was packed. I understand that our waitress was busy and had many people to take care of, but after waiting a long time without seeing our waitress, I went up to the bartender and asked her if she could let our waitress know that our table was ready to order. Everything was fine after that until she brought back our receipts. Our waitress sat down the booklets and said “thank you” and quickly walked off. When I opened mine to give a tip, my card had been cracked in half. The waitresses name on the receipt said “Madi”, but I am not sure if this was the name of the waitress that cracked my card because another waitress was helping us as well due to them being so busy. The girl that brought back my card was a young white female with longer black hair. Anyway, I have been to this place many times and have enjoyed it in the past but will never be...

After the nasty experience below, the owner reached out to me and made things right. It seems like the owner does take care of things pretty well. I had several good experiences there and one really bad one.

Gus' used to be my favorite fan sports bar. I've sent so many friends there. I went last night to watch a lacrosse game. Our server put the game on for us, then turned it without speaking to us. When we asked to change it back, she said she had to give priority to customers that were spending more money (there were 7 of us drinking). We asked to move to the other side of the EMPTY bar and she said she didn't want to have to clean another table. The game was at halftime. We were planning on staying for at least another hour or two. I've never experienced anything like that. I'll likely never be back. Unless you've got on a kickball shirt, you better just go to Home...

Had the most incredible late lunch/early dinner at Gus's Bar and Grill. The server was one of the nicest, fastest, and most pleasant I have had in a while. We couldn't decide between their ravioli nachos, the loaded cheese fries with steak on top, or their pizza with fresh in house made dough and sauce, so we got them all!

And it's hard to say what was the best. That dough was incredible, but the hot fries and cheddar loaded steak were so fantastic as well! I never had to ask for extra napkins, or a refill because Tre was on top of everything. Prices were good, music was on point, and atmosphere was great. There wasn't a game on at the time we went that we cared about, but having a tv at every booth was awesome anyway.
