Hamlin Pub — Restaurant in Richmond

This is the Buyer Beware and Honesty is amiss Story!!! So I call The Hamlin Pub in Richmond Mi, and the nice person answer and thanks me for calling and asks how can I help you. I tell her I would like to order a carry out. Then I ask I have a question? So she answers sure go ahead. I ask can I get a medium supreme pizza with only three topping on half of the Pizza? Mind you the supreme comes with six topping. She replies, well I don't know please hold while I check. She comes back with "YES" we can do that. Great I say, I would like only peperoni and double mushrooms on one half and ordered another item as well. She tells me the total and I am thinking that sounds a little high. Well maybe I just didn't hear her correctly but I will double check it when I get there. So hears the RUB. Medium Supreme Pizza $18.00 Beef Nacho Supreme $13.00 Total $31 Plus Tax "RIGHT OOH NOO" Above prices according to there own web site before I ordered!!!

Medium Supreme Pizza $17.75 Pepperoni $2.25 Mushroom $2.25 Mushroom $2.25 Beef Nacho Supreme $13.85 Total $38.35 Plus Tax "OUCH" Above prices according to the bill!!!

It is completely dishonest that the person taking the order didn't say "YES WE CAN DO THAT BUT YOU WILL BE CHARGED EXTRA FOR THE THREE ITEMS YOU WANT ON HALF YOUR PIZZA" While we pocket the the six item that where suppose to be on there. Oh no just yes we can do that!!

Now for the rest of the story ( As Paul Harvey would say ) Each extra item is $2.25 for a whole medium pizza right? and I got charged for three item for half the pizza. WOW one would think the amount of pepperoni and mushroom would be overwhelming. double the pepperoni and four times the mushroom on half the pizza right! Not so fast, it barely passed for regular pepperoni and mushroom pizza. I will say this, for the most part the food is good, BUT GETTING RIPPED OFF REALLY MAKES ME MAD. So it would be a DAME long time before you will see me ordering or visiting Hamlin...

First, the bad... Went there for a 40th birthday party. The space they gave us was basically outside except for the plastic walls that had huge gaps, basically still allowing a breeze in. The heaters on the wall were very insufficient. When sitting, you could literally see your breath. There was a thermostat on the wall that never got over 54°. There was a door that bar patrons kept coming threw randomly because it is obviously not clearly marked or used for something else, like a smoking room, but I'm not sure. We also had a little field mouse running around in there. Lol, it was cold out, so I'm really not surprised as it's not really inside, more like a covered porch. At 1 point they tried to shut the garage door connecting/separating us from the inside, but that proved not to work as we had a wheelchair bound family member that was not able to enter because of how the tables were set. The good... Staff was nice and attentive, although it did take 30 min to get a coke, I'm sympathetic to the fact there were like 30 of us. The food was very good and the amount given was plenty for everyone to eat and even have some leftovers. In all, in my opinion, customer comfort is very important, and the ability for our handicapped family to never feel as though they needed special treatment to enter a rented space is detrimental to running...

Angela was the worst service I've ever had. She ruined my dinner with my girlfriend. She was very short and seemed like she has an attitude the whole time. Then came over in the middle of dinner to ask if she could check us out now. Wasnt done eating but whatever. The bill was like 80 dollars and gave cash plus a 20 to break for tip. Then she brought us 2 ten dollar bills and walked away. Wasn't too concerned about the change but I wanted a receipt. She was no where to be found for about 5-10 mins. I asked the front desk if I could get my receipt. Angela Then came over with a nasty attitude again tell me how she wouldn't steal someone's change and it's going to take longer for a receipt since I paid cash. My girlfriend apologized over the miscommunication and Angela responded with "so what do you want" cutting off my girlfriend. I told her I want a receipt. She then said well I can't get one it'll take a while. I said okay I'll wait then. Have a good night. I then turned around and made a complaint about her to the manager behind me at front desk. He apologized over it and said he would be back after he talked to her. I stood there for 15 mins waiting to which the same manager went back to just working. I was about to dump 100 dollars here before the poor service. Never got my receipt after waiting for who knows how long. Will not...
