La Vera Pizza RVA — Restaurant in Richmond

I ordered delivery earlier today and here is my review:

The Good:

Delivery- I ordered the food and the guy said it would come within 40 minutes and he was right. Why this is significant is because I ordered during rush hour, so I know the traffic had to be bad or on the way there. But nevertheless, the food came faster than expected. To put it in another perspective: Bottoms Up Pizza takes 1 hour+ to deliver when there is no traffic at all.

Taste- I ordered a NY Style Meat Lovers Small Pizza. The food arrived hot and the ingredients were fresh. I took one bite of the pizza and appreciated that it was not greasy like Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Dominos or Bottoms Up. The taste was good and this restauant has lived up to its reputation.

The Bad:

Cost- While the food is good, the cost of my small pizza was $10+. For those who may be financially challenged, you can order a large any topping pizza from Pizza Hut for $10. So if you order from Papa's, be prepared to come out of your pocket.

Overall- While the cost may be a bit high for my frugal nature, the pizza is truly good and if you order delivery, it will come fast and hot. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a taste for good...

I was riding by looking for a place to eat and I saw this spot tucked away on Hull Street. Figured I'd jump in and try it out. Parking is a little tough but not impossible; there's still street parking nearby. The place is small, but cozy. It was clean and brightly lit with the front of the shop being mostly windows. The cashier was super friendly which was nice and seemed to genuinely like working there. I made my order and a few minutes later, I was handed my food. I ordered 1 plain slice and 1 special slice (pepperoni, sausage, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, etc). The pizza here is a solid contender. The cheese was delicious and the sauce had a slight sweetness to it. the crust was perfectly cooked and crispy. On the special slice, the veggies were slightly raw, which i think added to the flavor as the onions plays a big role in the profile. The sausage was not generic sausage, it had a good bite to it. According to other reviews, seems they are under new management. Well, looks like there doing it right cause I'll be visiting this place more often. Keep up...

My wife and I have been going to Papas Pizza almost every other day since a friend I introduced us to the pizza. Each time never had an issues. On Tuesday my wife order a half and half pizza her normal order. When I got there to pick up the pizza they got the order wrong and promptly apologized and gave us a new pizza, very understandable. When I got home with the pizza my wife noticed that they still got the order wrong. I called to resolve the issue and the person who answered made me send a picture of the pizza and argued that my claim was not valid cause he watched the pizza being made. Once I emailed the picture he noticed the error and offered a refund for the pizza. It was upsetting that they would not take the word of a frequent customer and I had to prove my dissatisfaction.
