TL;DR -great food and amazing service!
I always thought that I was only moved to write a review when I had exceptionally bad service. Our experience at Lalo's Margaritas has shown me that, instead, I am moved to write a review when I have exceptionally bad or exceptionally good service. Our experience at Lalo's would fall in the latter category. We stopped for lunch at Lalo's Margaritas on an interstate drive following a Google search recommendation. We were very impressed. We came in with a 4 year old and our waitress bent over backwards to customize his order to accommodate his discerning palate. She looked after us frequently making sure we had water and chips refills without being pushy for cocktail refills. When we were done, she offered boxes to take away our leftovers without pushing the bill. I cannot stress enough how refreshing this is given that our standard experience eating out is that waiters try to push as many drinks as they can before bringing the bill the moment they notice you take a break from eating. Instead, we enjoyed a few minutes of unmolested post-prandial chit chat before deciding we were ready to request the bill. To our huge surprise, when she brought the bill she advised that upon noticing that our child had not eaten the dish he ordered, there would be no charge. We insisted to, but she declined. We will definitely try to come back whenever we have a chance. That said, if you are the kind of commensal who would rather feed in a rush and move right on before you even start the digestive process, I did not witness any impediments for the staff to accommodate your preferences. As far as the food and drinks, everything was delicious and reasonably priced for lunch portions (~$12.50 per entrée). I thought that our dishes displayed the right ratio for portions (i.e. more of the actual entrée than rice & beans rather than the other way around). The carnitas were cooked to perfection -crispy on the surface and melt-in-your mouth inside) and the corn tortillas were fresh, warm and supple. The carne asada -the dish our child took exception to- was cooked perfectly rare as requested (no small feat in a thin cut like carne asada) and was seasoned with what seemed to be a black pepper, salt and granulated garlic mix -the latter likely being the taste our child found objectionable. Overall highly recommended if you are looking for a welcoming and leisurely...
Read moreThird Time’s the Charm – 10/10 Experience! I had written a review before about an okay experience, but this past weekend completely changed my perspective. It was my third visit, and truly third time’s the charm! I went with my family of four, and we sat on the patio it was super comfortable with such a nice vibe. The food was an absolute 10/10, and the service was PHENOMENAL.
If you’re looking for a place with excellent service, amazing drinks, and genuine teamwork, this is it. Our server was handling the entire floor (with some help from a young gentleman), yet she still had everything perfectly timed. She even joked around with my kids, which they loved it made the whole experience feel warm and personal. At one point she even apologized if anything wasn’t right, but there was absolutely nothing wrong she was wonderful.
It’s been a few days since our visit, but I can’t stop thinking about how great the vibe was that day. Hands down, one of the best dining...
Read moreFirst time writing a review, but this place seriously deserves it. The food? 10/10. The service? Also a 10. The drinks? Phenomenal. I had a skinny margarita, my friend had the spicy cucumber margarita—both were honestly some of the best we’ve had.
Our waitress was super sweet and helpful. Totally forgot to ask for her name, but nice young lady with brunette hair! I have a gluten allergy, and she made sure everything was safe and made me feel totally accommodated. Big plus!
Also noticed they have a really nice patio area—perfect if you’ve got pets. The overall vibe was just right: chill, stylish, and welcoming.
Only thing that threw us off a little was one of the other waitresses being extra cozy with this tattooed guy at a table right in front of us. Not sure if he worked there or was just a customer, but it felt kinda awkward.
Other than that, everything was amazing and I’ll...
