To start, the food was fantastic! Now, let’s move on to the service and atmosphere. When we arrived, it took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge us, even though there were several staff members around. It wasn't a huge issue at first, given that the place was a bit busy, but it did start to feel more significant as the night went on.
The older woman who eventually greeted us and took us to our table was friendly and seemed to genuinely care. Once seated, we quickly realized we didn’t quite fit in with the usual crowd. The regulars were decked out in designer clothes, loud, and boisterous, but I figured that didn't matter—money is money, right? They should be happy to serve us. Unfortunately, our server didn’t seem to think so.
When our server, Sierra, came over, she seemed annoyed that we were in her section. She barely had any other tables, just two I think, but they were clearly regulars. Maybe because we weren't dressed to impress—just flannel shirts and hiking pants—we felt she treated us as if we were below her.
We ordered an appetizer and a couple of drinks, and when Sierra brought them, it felt like we were inconveniencing her. As we finished our drinks, we also ran out of water. Luckily, another staff member came by with a water pitcher, refilling our glasses—unlike our server, who seemed unbothered by our diminishing beverages.
When our meals arrived, they looked and smelled amazing, and we were excited to dig in. My wife had Chicken Marsala with Green Beans, and I had Veal Parmesan with Spaghetti and Meat Sauce. Again, the food was incredible, but the service was just terrible. Sierra was nowhere to be found until it was clear we were done eating and ready to leave. It was almost as if she was waiting for us to vacate her section.
I asked if we could get a dessert menu, and she replied, "I can just tell you what we have." She gave us a quick rundown, then brought us our check without much more interaction. It felt like she was in a hurry to get rid of us. Normally my wife and I are generous tippers, in this case my wife left 2 cents. She also gave her “2 cents” about the service on the back of the receipt.
I've always believed that every customer should be treated with respect, regardless of appearance or how much they spend. But in this case, we felt completely looked down upon. I've been to high-end places looking like a bum and received far better service. As another reviewer wrote, "If you're not a regular at the Pegasus Restaurant, you might as well not bother." I...
Read moreA great option for classic Italian/Mediterranean based food. Been meaning to stop for some time now, and finally made it. The calamari app was cooked well and nicely tender. The seared tuna special was delicious served with a perfectly al dente linguine with super flavorful aromatic tomato garlic and olive topping. The Mediterranean pasta was excellent. Again pasta was perfectly cooked with lots of flavorful ingredients. The house salads are well dressed and fresh and tasty. The house vinegrette and feta was a ⭐. The creme brulee was rich creamy and left in you wanting to scrape out the dish! The staff was super friendly and the place was packed. They are busy but I felt sufficiently attentive. I think is nice that they are not over attentive and let you enjoy your meal in peace. If you are a bit on the pretentious side and don't want to flag someone down if you need something 'immediately' I can see how you might feel put out. Just chill, this is clearly a casual and family oriented atmosphere! Wine list is good, and more reasonably priced than most. Bar area for you to wait in or if you are dining alone or just need a drink and eating lite or want to socialize before or after dinner. Small parking area, but lots of street parking and lots all around behind the buildings. Very cozy and familial atmosphere. Kid...
Read moreHadn't been in forever. I had to try the Medusa Martini. A quite delicious craft cocktail with vodka, Campari and blood orange juice. My dining partner had a Greek white wine unfamiliar to me (the name escapes me). The thing I love about this place is how you get a variety of foods included with the meal: a small salad, Greek green beans, cottage potatoes or baked potato. That little Caesar salad was amazing. A spin on the classic, using artisanal lettuces. Great dressing. Nice touch with the anchovies. Just a few croutons, which I prefer. We chose the filet of flounder and softshell crabs. The flounder was cooked to perfection, as were the softshell crabs. The Greek green beans were the best I've ever had. The baked potato was amazing: cooked through with a soft skin. The maitre d was quite cordial. Hadnt seen her in forever, yet she remembered me. Our waiter was very professional and polite. Great staff overall. A...
