If you take coffee seriously - don’t miss this absolute gem. This review is far overdue - I first stumbled across Paix a few years back when they were a pop up cart. They surprised me with the quality of coffee, service, and knowledge from day one, and they’ve grown exponentially since! As a self proclaimed coffee nerd, I’d stack their coffee against some of the top coffee shops in the country (I travel a lot so this isn’t just blowing hot air). The caliber and selection of coffee they sling is shocking. On top of this, their cafe space is beautiful and owns a unique vibe - the crowning jewel being their custom lever espresso machine. Each time I visit, Dan or Seth excitedly tell me about what’s on rotation and what new roast they’re going to have dropping. This is a singular coffee experience that is enjoyable to the coffee novice or the connoisseur.

A charming local coffee spot serving custom roasts. The menu is limited compared to other spots, but it's evident that they're dedicated to their craft and have a loyal following. I tried their seasonal drink, an Espresso Lemonade, which was probably one of the most unique beverages I've ever had. I'm not a big coffee person, but I appreciated how smoothly the flavors blended, and it was very refreshing. It's a great drink for the summer season There's some limited seating inside the shop and two small round café tables outside, so it's not a great place to come and hang out with a group but would work perfectly for 1:1 hangouts. They share the space with Rexco and the styling and vibe of the shops are similar. Definitely worth checking out if you live in the area!

Paix is such an intriguing spot. I'm a fan of lattes, and they never disappoint! Their coffee selection is top tier. Service is reserved (in the best way) and respectful! You really catch that old-school vibe. The outside seating is small, but that's what sets this place apart from the rest. You really feel connected to this place on a cooler day sitting outback with the sun peeking through the rafters. The adjacent store is also worth browsing. All sorts of old Levi and Carhartt wears, as well as retired military fits. This is definitely one of the best coffee shops in Richmond. Hands down. Do yourself and favor and stop by for sip.

Business is slow, so they start harassing regulars. Got nothing else going on. Just standing around. I typically order something right when I come in, but today I had already had some coffee and needed to wait a bit before ordering more. Just reading and such. There was absolutely no one else in the entire place and they started harassing me (physically surrounded and ganged up on me) for not ordering yet after having just complained to their friends about things being slow. I’ve patronized this place multiple times this week alone, so their beratement was a bit tone deaf and alarming! There was an awkward moment when a second customer walked in mid-harassment. He and I shared a look. Lost a...
