Taqueria Panchito — Restaurant in Richmond

This is no joke the 2nd time I’ve been here and tried to get the rotisserie chicken they list ON THEIR SIGN and couldn’t get it—first time, they just didn’t have it; today, I sat down intending to dine in, ordered it, and was told it wouldn’t be ready for 20 minutes. I have a limited time for lunch, so I ordered something easy: hard shell ground beef tacos. Order went to kitchen… they’re out of ground beef. SO: went for something else presumably easy: two pastor tacos and beans. THIRTY MINUTES LATER, I went to the counter to say “Can I pay? I need to take that to go.” So I did. Food came up and I ate two pastor tacos and beans in traffic. Tacos were fine; if they’d come in a reasonable time, I’d have said good, but they weren’t spectacular. Beans were refried and needed some flavor from the salsa bar, which I skipped for time. Service was friendly, but not attentive; no English language barrier as some reviews seem to have indicated. I intentionally didn’t review them after the first visit, but two stars after two visits is not recommended and I won’t try for three. I’m sure this is great if you have no need to think about...

Horrible service. Ignored me for 30+ minutes, literally asking people behind me what they wanted (I stood in line just like everyone else), never said a word to me, eventually gave me my online order and walked away without ringing me up (also without saying a word to me, the order had been finished the whole time since I could see the bag). I wasn't sure if it was payed for or not since I didn't make the order, but they still ignored me for a bit after giving me the bag, so I walked out, then they followed me outside and said the only two words that came out the whole experience "you pay?" so I went back in, payed for it, and they still didn't say a word to me. They spoke English to the other customers, so I'm not sure what the deal was. I haven't even eaten the food yet, it may be good, it may not, but I dont care because it was a horrible experience and I'm not coming back.

I'm sure others have had good experiences here since everyone else was treated well, but I am still completely baffled by what happened, and don't know what it was that...

Aside from having to drive through the other side of town to get here, we were greeted by a parking lot next to what looked like a "Love Motel". It was excruciatingly cold outside and we ran inside only to find ourselves outside again -- it was probably just as cold inside. They really need to build actual walls to heat this place. That is my biggest complaint. But I remained optimistic that the food would make up for the drive and the lack of physical structure.

The meat (pork and beef) in the tacos looked and tasted pretty fresh. But this day in age, it's probably not that hard to get fresh ingredients. I wasn't blown away by any means. I probably wouldn't go again, but it...
