This was our first experience with PBR and, in fairness, they just opened this location in Hanover so they may still be working out any kinks.
Also, we ordered pickup on a Saturday night when the place was packed. We appreciated the accuracy of the timing provided online, estimating to the minute when our order (listed below) would be ready, given that it was more than an hour, underlining just how busy they were.
The appetizers were great and inventive. I especially enjoyed the Meatballs and the wings were good too. Everything was on the spicy side but, hey, their stock in trade in selling beer! "Another round to wash this down." LOL
Our pizzas looked and smelled great, though we wished they had ham as a choice to go with the pineapple.
Trouble is, when I picked up my first piece, it literally fell apart. I don't mean some toppings simply fell off, rather, the slice broke in half owing to soggy crust. Perhaps they came out too soon or the oven temperature had dropped. Maybe the dough was to moist. But while the taste and flavors were great, we found ourselves eating "pizza stew" rather than slices.
We will certainly visit again. Perhaps their za is best enjoyed at the table, fresh out of the oven, and not from a box at home. In any case, if you bypass the pizza assembly lines at the chain stores and savor the unique tastes of independent pizza shops, def give PBR a try.
Our order: Buffalo Chicken Egg Roll $9.00 1 Spicy Meatballs $9.00 1 Pasta Rosa $12.00 1 Boneless Wings $9.00 Sticky Asian Ranch Extra Crispy 1 BYO Pizza $11.00 Zesty Tomato Mozz Bacon $2.00 Pineapple $2.00 1 The Godfather $15.00 Bacon $2.00 1 Fried Cauliflower Wings $8.00 No Dressing BBQ All Drums 2...
Ā Ā Ā Read morerecently moved to The Fan area and heard good things about the food at PBR so my girlfriend and I was excited to test it out on our first night living in the area.....
So after a whole day of moving we went online to place a pick up order from PBR, and everything processed without issue for a total of $50 and it prompted us to come pick up our food in 20min. Once driving and arriving to PBR restaurant, we noticed the lights were off and it was closed. (very unprofessional for a company to still process payments and guarantee food if its not even open) also, this was Super Bowl Sunday... what bar is closed on Super Bowl Sunday right? The next morning we noticed our credit card was debited for the $50 without a refund, so like any other customer we called and to no surprise nobody ever answered the phone, so we drove back up there AGAIN. upon getting there and speaking with the shift manager, she informed us with no standard customer service empathy or the slightest apology on behalf of the company, she states "I'm sorry you didn't check our Instagram page but we were closed and we will try to get you a refund in 7-10 days".
With that response i emailed the companies GM who called me the next day apologizing on behalf of the manager for her poor customer service and stated he will send us a complementary Gift Card and issue a refund the same day.....
....which here we are on February 19th (spoke with GM on 2/5) .....and we still haven't received anything at all.
reading previous comments (outside of the praise of the food) with also my own horrible experience to note, PBR is being poorly managed and gives false promises to customers, the individuals who keep you up and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall Rating: 7.9/10 Highly recommended for enjoyable food at a fair price.
Atmosphere / Service: 5.1/10 Despite the unwelcoming exterior during winter, the staff inside were very pleasant. Service was timely and attentive, with the server ensuring the dining experience was more than transactional. The choice of music, featuring artists like NAS and Biggie, may not align with a family-friendly setting. A minor setback occurred when a desired menu item, steak and cheese sub was unavailable, but the server handled it well with patience and helpful alternatives.
Food:
Margherita Pizza: 7.1/10 The pizza delivered on taste and quality, with a satisfactory crunch, though it could have benefited from a bit more time in the oven.
Cheesy Bread: 9.1/10 An outstanding starter that comes highly recommended. Both the appearance and taste were exceptional, complemented by delicious marinara sauce.
Buffalo Wings: 9.2/10 A must-try for wing aficionados, these wings were cooked to perfection. The balance of crispiness, seasoning, and sauce made them as visually appealing as they were flavorful.
Vodka Sauce Pasta and Sausage: 6.9/10 A solid dish with perfectly cooked pasta and a generous portion. The garlic bites included were a nice touch, even if they didn't completely harmonize with the vodka sauce. The sausage met expectations in taste.
PokƩmon Go: For the Pokemon Go players, this is a hotspot restaurant with 5 pokestops while seated.
Value: 8.1/10 At $53 for two appetizers, a pizza, and a pasta dish, the pricing was justified. The food quality and portion sizes provided a satisfying meal without overreaching on cost, making it a worthwhile visit for a variety of...
