Gottwald Playhouse — Attraction in Richmond

We had issues with our tickets from the etix side of things and the crew at the playhouse did everything in their power to help and make sure we didn’t miss our show. We had driven from a few hours away and my daughter was so excited. They could have easily turned us away and brushed their hands clean of the situation but the young help at the front desk who’s name I did not catch, the manager who I believe was named Kristi, and the food and beverage manager, I believed named David, were our saving grace. I can’t thank them enough for the extra time they took to help us and better the situation. We had the best time and everyone else we encountered outside of our situation had smiles plastered on their faces and greeted us like we were in their own homes. Drove into Richmond to see an event at the playhouse. The theater is not in the nicest area so a member of my party that is law enforcement carried his duty weapon for the safety of the group. He was turned away at the door and told that law enforcement was not allowed to carry concealed weapons in the playhouse. This is a small theatre which is a huge plus for me. You get an up-close view of the performance, no matter where you sit. For those who get overwhelmed by large theatres with tons of people, this is an excellent alternative. Much less stressful! There is a parking lot directly across the street from the entrance.
