Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Ridgeland

Unbelievable experience! Four family members and a baby who didn't eat went to Little Tokyo to eat. Once the family reviewed the ticket, they were charged a gratuity tip of $17. They asked why they were charged a gratuity tip. The owner stated he charged a gratuity tip because he didn't think they would leave anything. The policy states if five orders within a party, a gratuity tip is added. Only four orders were placed. I was told not to go there because of others experiencing issues with the owner. Several guests were at the other table, eating and witnessing what had happened. They also agreed that the owner was wrong and heard of mistreating others and would not be eating there again. It is the principle of adding the tip and statement that was made profiling the customer. The owner stated that they were right, but he would not remove the gratuity tip. Your thoughts? I am sure it will be a very unprofessional and rude response that will describe his attitude and behavior toward the great citizens of MS.

I was here last week and ordered the Hibachi that they cook in front of you. They sat me alone. I didn’t like that. I’m used to going out to eat alone but with Hibachi spots, they normally wait until it’s like 6-8 people sitting around the stove before the cook comes out. I looked around and noticed they were only sitting the people in large parties together. I didn’t care for this. I was already alone and didn’t need others to see that I was alone and be looking all in my face wondering why I was there alone. Furthermore, my cook made my rice so dag on SALTY that everything else was salty! I couldn’t even eat it. It was a family member’s birthday yesterday. We enjoyed the food and everything, but when we got to the bill they messed up our order. Because it was a male who took our order, but then there was a female who came to confirm our order, but she wasn’t very clear with what she meant. Because the communication was horrible, and when we came to the bill in order for us to get our proper amount on the bill they wasted the food they made by throwing it away instead of letting one of the family members eating it.
