Señor Taco — Restaurant in Ridgeland

My husband and I have been showing patronage to this local taco stop for a few months now. We thought that the food and customer service would be consistent. Today was actually the first time that I picked up our carry out food order. The guy who gave me my order at the pick up window was not the most pleasant but I didn't make that an issue. When I arrived home I noticed that one of my appetizers of which I was charged for was missing. I called Senor Taco and a female answered the phone. I explained to her that some of my food items were missing. Her phone demeanor was flat, unprofessional, disconcerned and rather absent minded. I told her that I would be there shortly to pick up the rest of my order. When I arrived I politely told the female worker that I was there to pick up my order. As I was standing there at the pick up window her and another female worker made a comment to one another in Spanish then giggled and glanced at me. She then brought my order and I got in my car to leave. As I was leaving the lot, frustrated with the missing food order, along with the ill-mannered behavior and the unprofessionalism, I decided to return the food. I explained to the guy that I was dissatisfied with my experience and wanted a refund. He was the original person who gave me my food order to begin with. He also displayed a lack of regard or concern about my experience and did not do anything to resolve the matter. With the businesses taking a major hit due to this virus pandemic, today I did not feel valued nor appreciated as a customer. It was a very hurtful, disappointing and eye opening experience. This was my fave taco place, but it’s not as good lately.

Food: it was okay but not made how I usually get it: how I requested it. I wanted Shrimp tacos traditional which is cilantro, onion, and line. But she rang up shrimp fajitas and my onions were caramelized causing it to taste too sweet. Crispy tacos were browned too much and the meat was too salty.

Service: There was a girl just hanging out on her phone when I walked in. No other customers. And it was several minutes before I was greeted. Also they had no idea how to check me into the clover app.

Atmosphere: to be frank… the last couple of times it’s smelled like a bathroom when I walked in to pick up my order. It makes me worry about my food. First time I thought it was a one off, but it was so bad this time, I will not...

I decided to try this place because I kept hearing other people talk about it a lot. It wasn’t bad but I thought it could have been better. My main problem was that the chips were not freshly made and were a little cold and I also wasn’t a huge fan of the red salsa. The chips looked homemade and were still good cold but I like having them warm when I go to a restaurant. It was cool that they brought out a tray that had multiple different salsas to try. I got the steak chimichanga which I thought was pretty good but the meat was in pretty small slices. The rice and beans were good and they have good queso.
