Updated review 10.29.17: Third time's a charm . Seems like they fix some things around there. My dac biet pho this time came with everything, none of the meats were missing. The broth was on point, the brisket had very little fat! And I requested for no fat in my broth, they delivered. They also now give you more veggies, today was a good day! I'll definitely be back.
Update review: Pretty disappointed with our togo order tonight. I called in two dac biet specials of pho and an order of eggrolls. When I got home, which is only a 10 minute drive, my eggrolls were oily and soggy. They're also smaller than the ones we had at their grand opening.
It's about $12 for a pho togo after charging you for all the containers. Okay not a big deal for me, but let your customers know. They gave us such little greens, our brisket was full of fat and we were missing tendon and tripe (my two favorites). I called and he said "We're out of it, sorry. We gave you extra of the other meats." So if I order a turkey sandwich and you're out, but you don't tell me, and give me ham, I'm going to be pissed. He probably didn't want to lose an order so he took my order, had me pay then surprise me when I got home. No I'm not happy about the dishonesty. Our pho broth was fine, very comparable to Saigon on Lakeland.
If I didn't look at the menu on my phone, I would've assumed they made their dac biet with only 3 kinds of meat and not return to this establishment for pho. That's why it's important that restaurants let their customers know when they're out of something. This is the second time I've been here that they're out of something, the first time they were sold out of pho! At a pho restaurant! Again the server didn't even mention that they were out of pho that day, we had to ask after they've already seated us. If subway is out of subs, I'm pretty sure they'll let you know before you sit, not hoping that you'll op for a salad instead.
They have potential to do well, I just hope they don't continue to lose their customers trust. I just either have to dine in or check my togo order before leaving.
Previous review: We really wanted to try their pho, but it was completely sold out on grand opening day by 2pm. We got the bun bo hue lemongrass noodle soup. The meat was very tough, lacked flavor which I had to add a lot of fish sauce to. But it's much better than the bun bo hue at Saigon on Lakeland.
The eggrolls were so good! Exactly how my mom makes it, you need to get eggrolls for sure when you're here. My bf got the vermicelli bowl. He said the meat was nicely grilled and marinade. The only thing we didn't care for was the nuoc mam fish sauce that came with the noodle and egg rolls. Lacked flavor and tasted watered down, some places do this for the American customers. Overall very clean place, roomy and...
Read moreI've never written a review before but thought I should to warn potential customers of this place.
Last night (Saturday 7/10) I went in for dinner with my wife at 8:40pm. Usually the service is great in the afternoons and we wanted to go out for a dinner date.
The store closes at 10pm on Saturday, per their official hours. When we got there (at 8:40pm), the employees were incredibly rude. The larger boy with the glasses told us the store was closing soon and insisted that we order quickly. When I asked about the hours I was told that "they had no control over the posted hours, but the kitchen always closes around 8:30 anyway." He then started complaining about how much cleaning he had to do, even though I have no control of where he seeks gainful employment.
They turned the lights off where we were seated and sent a busser to sit next to us around 9:15pm. This was about 5 minutes after our food had arrived. Just unheard of. When I went to pay, both the girl and boy laughed at me and told me not to forget closing hours.
We left and went somewhere else for dinner even though it was a bit late at that point.
Highly disappointing experience. The staff were young and no management was present. It was obvious the two kids at the counter just wanted to go home and close down early.
When I called the store the next day (7/11) at 3:30pm to speak with a manager, I was told, "There is no manager here today. Ok? Bye." And then the store hung up on me.
So be warned - decent food but horrible customer service. They are lucky there is scant competition for Vietnamese food in the Jackson area. Customer service is key for the food industry.
Note: We were regulars over the last three years. Never...
Read moreWe spend 20-30 per person here. We started coming to this place right when it opened. When pho bowl was $12. When we first tried their pho, they had some issues. But we know that every resturant goes through inventory or logistics struggles at first so we gave it some time to manage them. After a few months, we went back and loved their dishes. We always order pho bowls and spring rolls. We loved it and recommended all our friends and family to go there. If we love a restaurant, we always tell everyone because we want them to stay in business. Well, during the pandemic, they changed their price (understandable). But multiple times. Now their pho bowl is at a ridiculous price of over $20. Still, we went their. I love meat balls on the pho but don't like brisket. They give two halves of a meatball on $20 bowl which is already lesser than what other pho restaurants give. I ask them to give me extra meatballs in place of brisket (both of them are same price on a side order). Other restaurants do that but they refuse. Their price has gone ridiculously high now. Their broth has also watered down lately. And now, we have started to see the bill we pay there is not worth the food and ingredients they give. They know we have been their regular customers since they opened. But, this restaurant has come to the point in price where I would rather go to other fancier restaurants if I am willing to spend such amount of money, especially when the ingredients are lesser and they are not willing to accommodate a little for their regular customers. Not asking free food, just some substitute for same priced ingredients but they refuse. Not giving our...
