I recently had the pleasure of dining at North South Tadka Indian Restaurant and it is without a doubt the best Indian restaurant in the area. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance. The décor was a perfect blend of modern aesthetics with traditional Indian elements, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. Whether you’re here for a casual meal or a special occasion, this place makes you feel right at home.
I first visited during their buffet, and I must say, the selection was simply outstanding. They offer a wide variety of dishes that showcase the rich diversity of Indian cuisine. From the fragrant Chicken Chettinad, each dish was prepared with meticulous attention to detail. The Dal Makhani was incredibly creamy and rich, a true delight for vegetarians, while the Butter Chicken had just the right balance of sweetness and spice. One of the highlights for me was their Paneer Tikka masala, which was marinated to perfection and grilled to achieve a smoky flavor that melted in your mouth.
For dinner, I tried a few of their specials, including the Goat Curry and Garlic Naan was warm, soft, and a perfect accompaniment to soak up the delicious gravies. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every need was met without being intrusive. They were knowledgeable about the menu and helped me pick out dishes based on my preferences, which was a big plus. It's clear that the team here takes pride in delivering not just a meal, but a memorable...
Read moreA Tale of Two Indian Restaurants in Mississippi — One Hit, One Miss As someone from Texas — a true hub for Indian cuisine — I didn’t expect to find standout Indian food in Mississippi. My recent visits to two Indian restaurants here showed just how different experiences can be. First, I tried Southern Spice, and frankly, it was a big disappointment. The food lacked flavor, the service was slow, and nothing felt fresh or thoughtfully prepared. I left genuinely underwhelmed, hoping my next experience would redeem Indian food in the area. Thankfully, it did. My next stop was North South Tadka in Ridgeland, and I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the chicken fried rice, which had great flavor — though the egg was slightly over-fried. The Andhra chicken curry, however, was absolutely delicious — rich, spicy, and comforting. The bread was fresh and soft, the kind you don’t leave behind on the plate. This second experience truly stood out and reminded me of home. If you're looking for great Indian food in Mississippi, skip Southern Spice and head to North South Tadka instead — it just might surprise you the...
Read moreExcellent Indian food and an excellent variety of options. I've only ever had their lunch buffets, but each time has been wonderful and has featured some variation in the offerings. The food is authentic, but more importantly, it's very well made. While I like ethnic food to be true to its roots, I care most about the quality of the food, and I wasn't let down here.
The prices are higher than your average buffet, but certainly reasonable. I'd pay it every time to get this kind of food. The staff is friendly as well--not highly attentive and upscale, but I don't really expect that from a buffet-style lunch. They do a fine job and encourage you to try various dishes, and I can find no faults.
If you haven't been there, you're missing out. Unless you're one of "those people" who can't handle spicy food. You know, the ones who think black pepper is too spicy. I would describe the food here (depending on the dish) as "pleasantly spicy." It's enough to really give a good flavor and character, but you don't feel like eating is a punishment. Even if it were, I'd gladly...
