The ordering process was easy and quickly confirmed. The meal would be ready in like roughly 20 minutes.

When I arrived to pick up my food, I arrived a little after the estimated ready time. The restaurant itself was cute and the person working at the front was very sweet. My family ordered a brisket box with the slaw and collard greens, a Carolina bowl with sauces on the side, the pork belly and an order of corn bread.

I have to start by saying all the meat was cold. I live less than ten minutes away from the restaurant but the meats were cold when we ate. We unpacked everything shortly after I arrived home.

The brisket itself was very soft and well seasoned. The slaw is sort of an Asian fusion which I found a nice alternative to traditional mayo based slaw. My husband was not a fan. The greens were braised well but it was also cold. This was also fusion and had a slight spicy note at the end. It was too salty for us.

The Carolina bowl was tasty all around. The pork was very tender with no gamey smell. The portion was generous and satisfying.

The highlight of the meal was the pork belly. At first glance it looked dried out but it wasn’t at all. It had a sort of dehydrated texture on the outside but it was moist on the inside. The sauce had the perfect amount of salt, spice and sweetness. It’s very addicting. Highly recommend!

Last but not least was the cornbread. I loved the flavor but the texture was a no go. It was so incredibly crumbly it was annoying to eat. Cornbread is always crumbly but this was like level 100 crumbly. You have to use a spoon to eat it.

For the price I paid ($70), I was left feeling unsatisfied with what we got. However, if you’re a fan of BBQ, I do think it’s worth checking out...

Outstanding Texas style BBQ in an unexpected format. The Korean twist really adds a great deal to their offerings. I got the "Smokehouse II" which came with pulled pork, brisket, chili and corn bread. Also got the smoked kimchi on the side. The smoked kimchi was really the best kimchi I've ever had. Oh, so delicious with just the right amount of bite while having a very welcome smokiness you don't normally find in kimchi. The pulled pork and brisket were very nice with their house BBQ sauce. The chili was really surprisingly good. I'd definitely consider just grabbing a bowl of this chili (and a side of that smoked kimchi) as a meal.

But the star of the show was a pork belly my friend ordered. OMFG, this was quite possibly the best pork I've ever eaten. Cooked to perfection with the fatty part just melting in your mouth as the beautiful flavor just settled in on your tongue. Definitely getting this next time.

We also shared the Korean BBQ ribs and they were really exceptional. Not like any ribs I've tasted before. Definitely give them a try, you won't regret it.

It's priced commensurately with other good BBQ, but you really get a lot of food for your money. The Smokehouse II was $24 but could easily serve two people (but you'll want to eat it all).

And to top it all off, the staff was very friendly and accomodating. I think we'll be making several...

THIS PLACE YALL! I have a friend who lives in hackensack and she mentioned this place for a late lunch. It did not disappoint. We went at an hour where it wasn't busy and no one was sitting there so we looked through the menu and I saw a Chonut 2.1. This is a sandwich of sorts. The buns are a glazed donut and stuff in between is a stir fried kimchi, a homemade bourbon bbq sauce, melted cheese, bacon and then you choose if you want either brisket or pork belly (I got the pb). We also ordered a large cajun fries to share. This meal was delicious mind you a tad pricey at $15 each but I think the pricing is justified. Everything balanced so perfectly. The sweetness from the donut balanced the vinegar spicy kick from the kimchi. The homemade bbq sauce worked well to tie everything in. The pork belly was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. A perfect bite every time for me. So glad this place isnt close to be otherwise I'd be eating there once a week. Also as a subnote I saw the owner of the business has a picture of Amanda Freitag and him standing together in a picture, on the wall. If she visited here and liked it, you...

They don't call it @brisketkingnyc for nothing! So many awesome dishes tonight, but a some standouts were an outstanding Brisket from @smokingofmeats, @kimchismoke, @bluesmokenyc and an awesome Thai Brisket dish from @tongbrooklyn. I need to head to Brooklyn and get dinner from this spot cause they are doing some special stuff folks! Great seeing so many familiar faces and some new ones on this beautiful night.
