West Side Bagels & Deli — Restaurant in Ridgewood

So disappointed! I stopped going to this place a few months ago when they tried charging me $1.75 per plain mini bagel until I demanded to recalculate the cost which they did, but no apology given. I was near the place today and was craving an egg salad bagel, so stopped by again. Gave them a $20 bill (and that’s the only cash I had on me) and made sure to take a note of it thinking to myself how ridiculous it would be if they tried to overcharge me again.... guess what? I got shortchanged as the seller gave me change for $10. The lady behind him at the counter even managed to argue that she remembered how the $20 bill looked from previous customer, so it couldn’t possibly...

This is a classic NJ/NY-style bagel and deli shop. The foot is hot and well-cooked. They keep a tight ship and have a large amount of staff working so they're able to get orders in and out swiftly. The food is itself delicious and they give you a great portion. Beyond that, as a working-class joe, their prices are in the exact right spot for someone like me: young, trying to pay rent and student loans, while still trying to get something good to eat. What you pay vs. what you get is a very, very fair trade here. I'm a frequent flyer here and I plan to continue being one so long as I remain in the area. Very disappointed! Not ordering from this place ever again. Always used to order from this place through DoorDash. I placed my order as usual and next thing you know is that the DoorDash driver is contacting me asking me if I picked up the order. Short story long, someone else took the order. Deli personnel were very rude and didn’t want to redo my order and told me to contact DoorDash instead even though it was their fault. DoorDash in the other hand was great! Got my refund, but I was starving and had to order from another place because they wanted me to replace the order and pay again which was NOT going to happen. Very rude and...
