J Mart — Local services in Ridgewood

So happy to have stumbled upon this wonderful store a couple weeks ago. Very friendly and helpful owners run this market filled with a wide variety of Japanese produce, snacks, drinks, prepared foods, frozen foods and other assorted imported products from Japan.

My partner and I decided to get the made to order sushi our first time visiting here and we were blown away.

Needles to say it’s unlike any sushi I’ve ever had in the US. It is the most freshest, well seasoned, flavorful sushi in its most purest from you will ever have next to taking a trip to Japan.

We’ve come back a second week in a row just for the sushi which should tell you something. We’ll keep returning for weeks to come as well as this level of quality is hard to find elsewhere.

Hands down my favorite Japanese grocery store for sweet, treats and savory delights. The first time I tried their Sushi Super Deluxe, I was so impressed by the quality of the rice, the variety of fish, their taste and freshness. Today, I also opted for their Sushi Regular, and it was equally impressive! The staff is exceptionally friendly, and there’s always something new to discover. Surprising variety of staple Asian groceries and snacks! My sister used to bring me here after school to pick out cute stuffies and stationery stuff too. Household products, and beauty too. Surprise sushi bar in the back! I tried to order in store but they had so many orders I had to call in! Sushi was very fresh and delicious, big portions of fish for the nigiri! definitely will be ordering...
