Our recent trip on Memorial Day weekend brought us to 108 Ale House. Having a rough week at work I asked my peers where I can get the best burger around and this place was suggested. A quick Google search had my mouth salivating. We arrived about 4:30ish and the place was packed, we barely got seats and it happened to be shift change. The shift change wasn’t noticeable and we wouldn’t have known if not for one of the friendly staff members that took care of us. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks while we waited for our food, she got a couple Patron margaritas and I went with the house draft. The lady went with a patty melt and onion rings and I opted for the Loco Burger with fries to get our grub on. You can see two pics of the Loco, one of them courtesy of my co-worker Eric who put me on to this place and was there a few hours before me. Everything was rich with flavor and hands down the best pub/American style food I’ve ever had. Food was fresh, came out quickly and the service was on point. Her patty melt was so large she could barely finish half and still had like 3 very large onions rings left, also the sauce served with her meal was excellent. Had a horseradish type taste but the additional ingredients made it an instant favorite. My monster burger was so big that when the lady saw it she said, is a human supposed to eat that. I did my best job to crush it down and you can see the after pic in the burger containing lettuce, tomato and mayo. I took about 5 minutes to assess the load, put on my proper PPE (napkins on both sides of plate), grabbed it with two hands, keep my elbows close and opened my mouth like the dentist was working on a cavity. My first bite took a small chunk out the side and didn’t even touch the buns. I managed to work my way around this thing and not make a mess throughout the 15 minutes of blissful, savory indulgence. When all was done the lady looked over and said, how did you eat all that and without making a mess. It felt like an epic accomplishment and I felt 10 pounds heavier. I warn you, this burger is not for the average person to take down in one sitting but it’s hands down the best burger I’ve had. Going to be hard to top this. I would have gave this place 5 stars but the small parking and limited seating takes it down a notch, definitely a 4.5 star establishment. Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely going back for “Linner” (meal between lunch and dinner), typically 1pm-3pm. Until then I highly recommend this hidden gem in...
Read moreI am giving a three because this is not my first time at the ale house. In fact I have been there several times. However this is my first time that I got it to go. I called multiple times before I could even reach anyone. 5 times actually. They took my order no problem. I got chicken tenders. My family’s meal included the steak and shrimp salads, fried pickles, and shrimp meal. Everything seemed to be fine. Not really any complaints except that the batter was not staying on the shrimp. Their pickles are great and grilled steak and shrimp salads had no complaints. It was my chicken tenders that was the issue. They are my go-to at any place we go because I am a very picky eater, plus I love chicken tenders. I started to eat with my honey mustard as usual but they tasted a little off. I thought it was me because I am a little stuffy from my allergies lately. However, I looked at them and breading was darker in some spots closer to the chicken rather than an even color all around. I break open a chicken tender and noticed the meat was gray. I wasn’t happy with them and immediately stopped eating them. I was done. The thing that upset me is that shortly later my stomach started hurting. Then within a couple hours I felt so nauseated that if I turned the wrong way I would have to the run to the bathroom with it coming out both ends. Sorry so blunt. I tried to call back earlier after noticing the chicken but I didn’t reach anyone and didn’t want to continue to call multiple times like before. I’m just upset at this experience. Don’t get me wrong, my husband and I have been there many times before. He loves the drinks and I love the fried pickles. They have great salads and I typically get the burger there. I tried it once and was in love. My previous experience with my in dining eating has been great. But my take out experience where I seemed to get sick to my stomach has thrown me off. My 3 stars is because I had never had too much to complain about before. I can honestly say that nothing else influenced my stomach because I ordered for lunch and had nothing before that or even after. I still haven’t eaten today simply because I still have a stomach ache and can only drink liquids without getting nauseous. I guess every place has their “oops” but this is my first here at the...

Based on reviews here, my family and I wanted to try the burgers and see just how good they were. When we arrived, the front door was wide open, and smokers were out front...lingering the smell back into the restaurant. Strike 1.
We sat down, looked at the menu. Took another 5 minutes to finally get our drinks (water and coke). Then another 10 minutes to order. We asked if the kids meals came with a drink, they said yes. We ordered the Cypress Burger, the Chickadee, and 2 order of kids chicken fingers with fries. Glasses of water ran out and had to wait at least 5 minutes for refill; mind you we were one of only 2 tables in the place at the time...Strike 2.
When we finally go our food, it was par, it's still just a burger (which I ordered medium-well...was cooked well done). The kids chicken fingers...one order was hot, the other just above room temperature. The Chickadee was so full of gristle, my wife had to quit eating it. Strike 3.
When done, we asked for the check to end this miserable event, and wouldn't you guess it, they charged for the kids drinks...Strike 4.
We asked about it, and they said, "wait a minute...". They FINALLY got it taken off (took ANOTHER 10 minutes).
Food was par, at best. Wait staff was well below par.
Needless to say, unless you are drinking beer, don't go here. You will need to be drunk to enjoy it.
Sad, because they wanted $5 for ONE cannoli...after all this, I couldn't bring myself to be charged at least 2 times what its worth for a dessert I'm sure they'll...
