just about the worst experience i’ve ever had at a mexican restaurant, the attitude of the staff was absolutely insulting which was upsetting because i have been here prior with a different server and had a great experience. i have worked in food service my entire life so i understand mistakes happen, but i had to send my food (mexican steak) back 2 different times because they cooked a medium steak well done and then gave me a plate that was practically mooing (of course i didn’t eat it because i didn’t want to get food poisoning or salmonella like many have reported here on google reviews). asked for an enchilada platter with no sauce that proceeded to come out drenched in sauce, so we of course sent it back as any paying customer would and the incredibly rude waitress brought out the exact same plate with the excuse that “they didn’t have it written that we asked for no sauce”. regardless if there was a communication error, the golden rule of food service is that the customer is always right. spoke to the manager about all of these issues and he was incredibly dismissive, i told him that i understand communication errors happen, but regardless, if a customer tells you it’s wrong, it’s your job to fix it, and he told me “i cannot agree with you”. i have never been more disappointed in an establishment, i will never understand how a manager can speak that way to a paying customer. the management team and staff desperately need to take a customer service class. the only good thing that came out of this experience was it being taken off the check and subpar watered down queso. the shits you would endure at taco bell would be less of a hassle and upsetting than the service of this...
Read moreI am a longtime patron of the other Jalapeños, particularly the one in Sandfly. The restaurant chain has changed over the years (not for the better), but I remained a loyal patron until I moved from Savannah.
I was super excited when Jalapeños opened in Rincon, but my excitement quickly turned to disappointment and worry that the restaurant would fail. For many months after opening, the service at the Rincon restaurant was terrible and SLOW. I didn’t feel the food was as good either. I did not want to write a poor review for fear it would turn other patrons away and hurt the restaurant.
I am happy to say that I have been there frequently in the past month, and the service and food are much improved. The waiters they have now are more what I expect from a Jalapeños.
I have one complaint about all the restaurants and that is fragrance. They all have fragrance dispensers in the bathrooms. I have terrible sensitivities to fragrance and hate being exposed to it. I don’t know if they have fragrance in the kitchen area or not, but even the tea tastes like the fragrance smells to me. Also, many of the female waitresses wear very strong smelling perfume, which makes it hard for me to be...

I was at the restaurant during this incident and witnessed the entire situation. I feel compelled to clarify a few points since your account doesn’t align with what actually happened.
First, I was shocked by how you spoke to your server and the children nearby. You were loud and rude throughout your visit, making the atmosphere uncomfortable for everyone around you. The person you were with even got up, went inside, and apologized for your behavior, which speaks volumes.
Liliana Reyes, the manager, didn’t even come out initially. The staff tried to handle your complaints with patience and professionalism, but you escalated the situation unnecessarily. You only started complaining about the food after you had eaten all of it, and when Liliana eventually did approach you, you treated her with blatant disrespect, even shooing her away.
Your portrayal of this event is unfair and untrue. As a fellow customer, I felt sorry for the staff having to endure such treatment. I’d encourage you to reflect on how you interact with others before blaming an establishment for a situation that was clearly of your own...
