Kobe Hibachi Grill & Sushi — Restaurant in Rincon

Recently dined here and unfortunately witnessed one of the most unprofessional displays of customer service I’ve ever seen. While enjoying my meal, I observed a server speaking to a customer and her mother with a consistently rude and dismissive attitude.

When the mother politely asked about her egg rolls, the server snapped back in an unkind and disrespectful tone. Later, when the food was brought out, the server accused the customer of not ordering correctly, repeating and yelling “no you didn’t” multiple times instead of addressing the issue respectfully. The situation escalated further when the customer expressed frustration, and shockingly, the server raised her voice again, challenging the mother to physically hit her loudly and in front of the daughters child and other customer's. This level of aggression and hostility from a staff member/server is absolutely unacceptable in any dining establishment.

I have never before seen such blatant unprofessionalism in a restaurant. Staff should de-escalate tense moments, not fuel them or egg customers on. Regardless of what may have been said, it is never appropriate for an employee to provoke or dare a customer to a fight. I have been here many times and the food is always quite good.

The thing that bothers me is how the general upkeep and cleanliness have fallen over the last couple of years. The tables, benches, and chairs are in various states of disrepair. Many of the tables have graffiti carved into them, including profanity. Reminds me of an old set of bleachers.

The younger staff that takes orders is often playing on their phones while sitting at the tables that should be reserved for customers while not on break. They should be focused on cleaning. When tables are cleaned, they use one small rag and wipe everything with it, table, condiment bottles, etc., leaving almost everything at the tables sticky.

But the main reason I am writing this review is for the roaches I have seen the last couple of times I have visited. The last time I wrote it off as a one-time thing but it has happened again.

I just can't bring myself to keep visiting here without a decent attempt from staff and ownership to clean the place up.

This place has officially lost my business after tonight. I placed my order at 5:38PM, was told 10-15 minutes. I got there at 5:41, went ahead and paid for my order knowing i was going to have to wait but i wanted to be there when it was done. Fast forward 45 minutes later, i'm still standing there while holding my child. The cashier was steady taking door dash orders, walk in orders and phone orders. Thankfully some guy finally asked how long i had been there and i said 45 minutes and he said "excuse me ma'am but she's been here for 45 minutes. Where is her order". I guess that upset the cashier because she shoved my food at me and said "here". I did take into consideration that she was the only one working. She had to pack orders and take orders to tables, however what made me the most mad is my order had been sitting there since 6PM. Finally...
