Go to Viet Rice. They have wonderful attentive and friendly staff. Don't waste your time at pho bar anymore..
I don't know what's happened in here but as long as they keep the current manager they might as well close the doors. She was by far the rudest most inept human being I've had to deal with in quite some time. N-E-V-E-R did anyone come to our table to check on us after we received our food. I ordered stir fried egg noodles, they dumped so much soy sauce on them they were inedible and I love salt. We shared the salad while I waited for a server.. we were going to order another salad and see if we could get more noodles to fix the noodle dish. The food is usually very good and I figured it was a fixable issue. But the server manager came to our table and without a word took the food and left. Not asking us. Then when I confronted her at the register she rudely snapped that I said I wasn't going to eat them.. I N-E-V-E-R said that and nobody ever came to speak to us or anyone else for that matter. I told her we were waiting to get a box and place another order and she snapped 'the kitchen is closed'!... They are going to be closed on weekends due to a serious staff shortage according to the signs. A staff shortage is absolutely NO excuse to treat customers this horrifically. You might as well keep it closed if you can only hire rude abusive managers.
I really enjoyed the food here and this used to be a favorite restaurant but I will not be returning here.
To the owner STOP hiring substandard managers to run your business into the ground by running off all your...
Read moreI love Vietnamese, and unfortunately, this is my least liked location in ABQ / RR on many areas. I didn't enjoy the meal, and neither did my family (who also love this food). There were a couple of weird tastes going on here. Shrimp, that was oddly sweet. Meat that had a weird wood (like a pencil) taste. It was just odd. The waiter was very kind and young. But after he brought our food, he never returned for refills, etc. He was the only waiter, and there were at least 10 tables seated, so I kinda understand. I believe the owner/manager was running the food out but not doing waiter type services either. These are the only 2 people I saw. The music was an interesting choice also. Fairly loud Christian music. Mind you, I'm Christian, but it was kinda odd to hear praise Jesus type music the whole time. Not that it was bad it was just another odd touch to this environment. Clearly, though, the waiter just seemed kind like he was at church. So I feel bad complaining that we didn't get refills and had to flag him down for our bill because he was nice. Sigh. This is a food review, and so the food was 2 stars (pho, vermicelli bowls, egg rolls). But I rated it 3 simply because the kid worked hard and was kind. I'm not sure if I'm being too kind myself on this review. Im not going to...
Read moreWe go to Pho Bar very often and lately the service hasn't been the greatest, except for one waitress. Always new faces when we go in every time and they are brand new and don't know what they're doing, when we walked in we weren't greeted just got asked rudely if it was for here or to go? Then told us to sit wherever, high chairs were dusty and unkept cleaned it myself, after we ordered they came back about 15 mins later and said they didn't have Wi-Fi on their phone so the ticket never went through so we waited another 20-25 mins for our food, with a toddler believe me that's not always easy. Then when they brought our food out they messed up my toddlers plate, and my fiancés plate, had to send back and wait longer, but the waitress said I need to look at the ticket instead of taking our word for it, I know what we ordered hence we've been going here for so long. Oh and to add to it our check came out to over 73 dollars when. Normally we would spend about 50 usually, no discount added or anything for all the problems and an added non cash fee to our ticket on top of it all, Sad to say we won't be returning...
