Love that chicken from Popeyes... just not the service. My partner and I ordered spicy chicken sandwiches with fries and also ordered some nuggets (since they don't sell tenders a la carte). We also got some sides; mashes potatoes with gravy, coleslaw and red beans and rice. The nuggets were crispy and flavorful. The sides were fine. The mashed potatoes and Cajun gravy were the best of the three followed by the red beans and rice and finally the coleslaw. Good but nothing out of the ordinary. The chicken sandwiches were as good as everyone says. It had a big, juicy breast that stayed crispy on the outside. The fries are batted and fried and although a bit limp, but still good. The reason for the low rating was the service. We stayed patient since it was during dinnertime but 30 minutes after my order, they hadn't even begun to work on my order until we asked about it. People came in and left and still nothing so I asked the couple next to me that got their food how long they waited and it was 25 mins for them. At that point we had been waiting 50 minutes so I asked one of the workers what was going on with my order. 10 minutes later, one of them finally handed me my food, no "sorry for the wait" or anything. I still had to ask them for my drink cups. To top everything off, the stupid coke machine sprayed me while trying to get a drink. I just wanted to go home so I didn't even notice they didn't include the sauces for the nuggets. I understand that restaurants get busy, but they completely forgot about our order. Not only did it take an hour for our food but they couldn't even be bothered to apologize or anything. The food is on point but the service was abysmal. Please get your...
Read moreIt's hard or perhaps unfair to judge this fast food business, new to Rio Rancho, that is having to deal with the labor shortage and the chicken shortage simultaneously. But here goes- we've been twice, during "dinner" hours. Both times they were overwhelmed with the amount of customers. From the pick-up window the view inside was chaos, employees running everywhere and/or standing motionless and no one seemed know what they were doing. Both times we had ordered online and gave them about 45 minutes lead time before arriving, to no avail. The order hadn't even been started, or even been noticed. (They found it after an urgent search on an unattended computer screen off to the side.) The girl wanted us to "pull forward" and said the wait wouldn't be long, maybe "10 or 15 minutes". This time I said no, I'd wait at the window. A real panicked rush ensued to start the order as the line behind us grew even longer. Pretty soon it did arrive and we checked it thoroughly. It was all there but when we got home we found the quality of the order to be less than expected based on our previous visits to a different store in Albuquerque. Plus, no additional points toward our next purchase have been added to our account as of now. We've decided not to return until there's no more chicken shortage, or the pandemic is over, or Russia stops the invasion, or labor is...
Read moreOrdering went fine. Nice girl at the counter took it and gave me my number. Sat down for a few minutes even though the place wasn't that busy and I saw the chicken was already cooked and under heat lamp. Called my number, picked up my order and drove home with is close enough. Got home, opened the box and saw they gave me rice instead of mashed with gravy so I took it back and asked for some fresh chicken which unfortunately wouldn't have made any difference since said chicken had been sitting under the lamp for a few hours. Manager seemed to belittle me about wanting some fresh chicken then I realized there was none that was fresh. I had to open the box to show her the rice instead of the mashed as well. Guess she thought I was lying. She could really use some new countertop manners considering the price and condition of their chicken. Got it home and mashed was good, biscuit was a hard brick and the chicken? Well let's just say the chicken was not what I expected since I used to frequent the location on San Mateo which was always good and fresh. The chicken is dry and tough including the skin but if that's what you like keep eating there since you obviously don't know good chicken. $10.32 for the worst meal I've had in a long time. Should have went to Lota for $8.00. Wish I had read these reviews before I wasted my money....
