Not my first choice for a Mexican restaurant. If you just want a nice place to eat chips, salsa, and guacamole, this may be a good choice.
Quick grades since I realize the review is long. Chips: A. Salsa:B. Guacamole: B. Beef Queso dip: C. Chimichanga: F. Prices: C. Service: C. Atmosphere: A.
First up, the chips were excellent! Thin, crispy, and fresh. They needed more salt, but we just added some at the table. I give the chips a solid A.
The salsa had a good flavor, but there was zero spice to it. I like spicy foods, but I'm not one that wants to hurt during and after a meal. However, salsa should have at least a little spice to it in my opinion. Also, most Mexican restaurants have a spicier salsa available upon request; no such option here. Salsa: B.
We ordered guacamole and a beef queso dip. The guacamole was good in my opinion. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but some places actually mess up guacamole. This place didn't mess it up; it was good. The beef queso was - interesting. I wouldn't order that again. It was boiled beef in a queso cheese sauce with some Rotel. The ingredients were as advertised; we just didn't care for it. Guacamole: B. Beef queso: C.
For an entree, I ordered the monster chimichanga. It was large, but apparently didn't come with any sides. I'm honestly not sure if they forgot to bring them or if it didn't come with rice and beans. The chimi was not good though. It was served on a bed of sizzling peppers and onions on a fajita skillet. It sounds delicious, and the peppers and onions were delicious; the chimi however was not. The chimi was greasy, lacked seasoning, and was not crispy. It seems like the chimi was done too early, was covered in a not-good red sauce along with queso, then waited for the peppers and onions to finish. When it came to the table, the skillet of vegetables was sizzling and the chimi was mostly soft and some parts soggy. The flavor was bland, but after cutting it open, it quickly made an unappealingly large puddle of grease on my plate. I realize it's fried, but this was a lot more grease than typically accompanies a chimi. The monster chimi was an F.
Prices were probably $1-$2 / meal above what you'd pay for the same meal at other restaurants in the area even today. Price grade is a C.
Service was on the low side of okay. Staff were friendly but not attentive. We asked for drink refills after the empty cups sat at the edge of the table for a while. When the salsa ran dry, many people walked by, but no one offered to refill it. The person that brought out the guacamole and beef queso dip quickly disappeared, though there were very few chips on the table. Someone came by eventually, but we had been picking at the appetizers with little scraps of chips. No one removed a dish until the meal was over. The restaurant was somewhat busy though (~75-80% filled) so you may get better service depending when you go. Also, they may be understaffed. It's hard to get and stay staffed right now. I waited tables for years; the service was not what I'd call poor but certainly not good. Overall service was a C based on our experience.
Atmosphere was nice. The inside of the restaurant is in great condition. The decor is nice. It was very clean in the dining area. We didn't see the restrooms. The level of cleanliness was much better than most places. It's relatively new so let's hope they maintain these good standards. Overall, A on the atmosphere.
I'd say give them a try. It's new, and you may love it. Depending what you order and when you go, you may have a very different dining experience. You definitely can't go wrong with the...

This place was ok....however I don't plan on ever going back. The only plus from this place was that our food was good, although my portion (chicken delight) was not much compared to my friends.
I ordered the margarita flight, I chose Pina colada, guava, blue, and green. They were alright but tasted watered down and weak. Price was $12.99 for about 20oz of margarita. My friends Margaritas tasted good, but were the wrong type.
Me and my 3 friends ordered food after sitting for 20min without a waiter checking in after we got our drinks. We all ordered our food at the same time, and most of the food came out in a timely manner. Items were missing or wrong, but they quickly fixed them. My food didn't come out with the rest of my table and we couldn't flag our waiter down until 2 of my 3 friends had already finished their food. My food did arrive quickly after my waiter was informed.
For the chicken delight and the margarita flight, it was just under $30. Overpriced for meh service,...
Read moreWe were excited to try Casa Charro but the excitment quickly dwindled. The building had a weird smell, which was the first thing you noticed upon walking in. We were seated by the most abrupt server who wasn't the most welcoming. We ordered our drinks and food. When it came time to get refills, he took our drinks and brought one drink back to the wrong child and never brought the other child's drink back. We asked our server three times and asked a second service twice to get her drink back. She finally got it back about 30 minutes later. We waited about an hour and fifteen minutes for our food. This is after our server visited our table and told us our food was given to another table and he needed to take our order again (and didn't give us menus) so everyone was trying to recall their order from memory. We all felt that they shouldn't have opened the back dining room because clearly they are not equipt to handle that volume of guests. Unfortunately, we were all so underwhelmed, we'll stick with our other favorite mexican...
