Wow!

After coming to the area for some work on a vehicle, I stopped in for breakfast after the car was done. Driving up to the building, it is unassuming and does not stand out. The sign is pretty prominent though, so finding it is easy.

When you walk in the door, there is a pretty large waiting area with plenty of seating along the wall. The dining area is rows of four top tables. If your party is more than four, they pull tables together to accommodate. Along the outside, there are single rows of booth seating. Five rows across, six to seven rows deep, filling half the building. There is also a bar with tall bar stools for approximately six people. The wait staff work behind the bar getting drinks, etc.

The staff was very friendly, and although the place was packed, (we had a five minute wait at 10:45 on a Saturday morning) our food was ready very quickly and was delicious! It was home style cooking at its best. We had breakfast and everything was perfect. I saw others getting lunch/dinner fare, and one was a salad that was piled high and looked great too!

Although the 'feel' of the dining room initially was more like a dining area in a nursing home or a multipurpose room in an elementary school, after sitting down and being served with a smile, it definitely doesn't feel like that now that we're leaving. It feels like a hometown favorite, where everyone comes to catch up with each other.

I'm impressed. I never give five star ratings unless I am 'wowed'. They deserved the stars! Do your belly a favor, and go to Main...

My husband and I and my father in-law came in today Sunday for early dinner ( since they closed 2:30 pm) we waited 45 minutes for our food, my father in-law got his food first, then after 5 minutes my husband got his food then after 5 minutes I got my food. I have never been to any restaurants and you have to wait 45 minutes for the food. Very, very disappointed, I finally got up and asked our waitress and her response was very shocking, " she said were very busy and we hand- out all breakfast food first" do you know how ridiculous did that sound"?? Weather you order breakfast or lunch or dinner they should go by the tickets that comes in first whether it's breakfast or lunch or dinner Not handling out all the breakfast. And oh! The waitress said to me " sorry they burned your first country fried steak so we have to make another one". No discount oon our meal for having us wait 45 minutes. Not coming back to your restaurant, your not the only restaurant that serves good food. Very very ridiculous, I will not recommend this place to any iof my friends or relatives. ...

I have lived in Jefferson County for many years and never made it to the Main Street Café until a few weeks ago for the first time. The food is absolutely amazing! It reminds me of grandma's homestyle cooking. It's not healthy, and frankly I don't care like most seem to these days. The portions are generous and everything I have tried in the past couple of visits was absolutely delicious. The service is top notch also! Both times we have visited, the servers are very personable and ensure that you have what you need at all times. Before my next statement I will preface it with, I do not judge restaurants based on how fancy the décor is, I'm more focused on cleanliness, customer service, and the food. With that said, this is not a fancy place, it is more "country" décor focused, and again I do not hold it against this business, but a more discerning customer may complain that it is outdated. Overall this is now going to be a regular stop for my wife and I, thanks for the great option, we appreciate the cleanliness, staff, food, and...

The Main Street Café offers a classic greasy spoon experience with a cozy atmosphere and hearty comfort food. This is a diner’s dream with typical friendly service. I built my own omelet with egg whites, spinach, olives, jalapeños and feta cheese. It was fantastic. The menu also has all the typical diner breakfast options, including fluffy pancakes, skillets, and omelets. While the ambiance may be a bit dated, the delicious homemade cooking more than makes up for it. Main Street Cafe. But it’s not on Main Street. Its original location on Main Street burned down so they had to move but the name stuck. A little history on their current location: it was a pool hall before, then before that I’m told it was a feed store but I wasn’t alive so take that for what it’s worth.

This was my first visit. It is a very popular place to eat. Was expecting a long wait, but lucked out and was seated in 5 minutes. My food came out in about 10 minutes, hot, and exactly as ordered. The waitress was awesome. She ran around like the Energizer bunny, taking orders, bringing drinks and food, and kept up with refills, all without ever stopping for a breath. My meal was 15 for the farmers omelette with hash browns, toast and coffee. I left a 10 tip for her awesome work ethic. Will definitely be going back again.

I walked in and asked for a Redbull. They said they don’t have any. After seeing several redbull cans on the counter tops I went and grabbed one from the car. I brought it in and was immediately told no out side drinks. I asked about the redbull and they said it was for the staff. The food came out extra greasy and burnt. The staff was rude.
