Generally just turned a pleasant morning into a bad one. Came in was told there is a tiny wait maybe 10 minutes. We sat to wait and watched the hostess go help the coffee bar. 20 minutes pass, which isn't that bad except that she's still helping the coffee bar, constantly helping new customers for coffee despite that multiple tables have left that were sitting, we likely could have been sat. Besides that two couples have come in looking for hostess, one couple just sits themselves outside before us. Eventually they notice they've left us and it's been longer than expected, hostess sits us. We go to order food and ask if we can replace potatoes with sliced tomato or some vegetable. Her response was "I can charge you for avocado or fruit." I made a face because that didn't really answer my question and she said "unfortunately I can't substitute anything I can charge you". I am upset and say actually I won't have anything but I can have some of my wife's. She decides just to order a coffee because she knows I'm upset. We end up not ordering breakfast and leaving. Waitress didn't bother to say anything despite knowing I'm upset, what she did was send a diff waitress to check if we actually wanted food (she might. Have just gone on break but it's still a...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting this coffe shop, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. I ordered a Chai Tea Latte with oat milk. When my drink was ready, the gentleman preparing it poured too much into the cup, causing it to spill everywhere. He wiped it down briefly and still handed it to me, with tea dripping everywhere which already felt careless.
When I tasted it, the drink was overwhelmingly spicy, so I politely asked if it could be adjusted. His response was, “You need to either drink some out of it or throw some away.” I couldn’t comfortably drink that much on the spot, so I found myself awkwardly holding my drink over the trash can just to make room for some syrup to be added. It was embarrassing—especially with other customers watching.
I’ve never had such a frustrating experience just trying to get a simple drink. These small comforts are supposed to make your day better, not worse. I truly believe in treating others the way you’d like to be treated, and this interaction missed the mark completely. I hope management takes the time to review this incident—perhaps even on camera—as an example of how not to handle customer service. The restaurant itself is a cute...
Read moreI went to Arcade Downtown with my dad for brunch this morning, and while the food was absolutely fantastic and the coffee was spot on, the overall experience left something to be desired.
We made a reservation and were greeted by a friendly hostess, which set a great tone initially. The atmosphere was bright and lively, and the meal itself was delicious—definitely a highlight. I had the steak and eggs, and my dad had the pork belly sandwich along with a chocolate muffin and the coffee of our choice.
Unfortunately, we both felt that the service felt rushed. We were there for just about 30 minutes when our waiter started pushing us to pay and wrap things up (he brought us the pay device and asked for our card).
We completely understand if they wanted to seat other guests, but it made it difficult to enjoy a relaxed brunch, which was disappointing since we had reserved and planned to take our time.
Other guests were working on their laptop and chatting along, so we felt it was unfair that we were rushed to pay up and leave..
While the food and coffee were top-notch, the feeling of being hurried along took away from what could’ve been a perfect...
