Johnny's Burgers — Restaurant in Riverside

I decided to day to try a new better burger, previously known as Johnny’s burgers in the Riverside Plaza

At first glance, I noticed that the menu has been changed somewhat, and the menu seem to look good, and the prices looked reasonable

I ordered two different combos The first one being the grilled chicken sandwich combo

I upgraded to the onion rings for an additional $2.10 instead of the french fries no problem there came with a medium soda with refills also and proper order and one grilled chicken sandwich The grilled chicken sandwich looked pretty good and appetizing however, at closer inspection, I found the chicken meat itself to be gray in color and smelt and taste very bitter. The flavor of the chicken was so bad that it actually ruined the sandwich.

I’m not sure where they get their chicken from but I think they need another provider.

The total overall price for the meal $15.11 the price slightly on the higher side, if the meal was good but the sandwich was so bad that I would certainly not get it again it actually tasted like I was eating a dirty dish cloth

The second meal I purchased was a pastrami sandwich, combo with french fries and a medium drink with refills

The price for the entire meal $15.55 seemed reasonable for a pastrami sandwich meal again the fries were acceptable size portion and flavor and the medium drink with refills was acceptable but when you arrived at the pastrami sandwich it was undersized for the price about 7 inches total in length, and for some reason, had more dill pickles in it than meat I’m not opposed to dill pickles with a pastrami sandwich, but I would prefer to have them on the side, instead of trying to supplement the meat that the sandwich should have had in it with pickles

Overall, the sandwich was too small for the price and had more bread and pickles than pastrami. Definitely would not recommend it.

As far as the service goes, the young Hispanic girl that was working, there seem to be more interested in putting on a show like she was in a beauty contest, instead of doing her job

Every table in the restaurant was filthy, and no tables had been cleaned in the entire time I was there

When I received my order, I asked the young lady for some mustard to put on the pastrami sandwich as pastrami sandwiches typically are heavy mustard

She turned around and reluctantly gave me one mustard packet. I chuckled and asked her have you ever had a pastrami sandwich she told me “no” with a grin on her face.

I explain to her pastrami sandwiches are heavy mustard, so she turned around and gave me one more mustard packet. I had to practically bag to get a few more.

I know there is a lot of transitioning going on with the prices of fast food today, but at these prices, the portion should be larger and the quality of food should be better

I would rate this restaurant three thumbs down...

Well for you dog lovers out there don't try an order something here to go. They will not accommodate you.. In fact, the cashier will tell out to you in the middle of they restaurant to let you know to leave. Now, here is why I was walking my Chihuahua(weights 4lbs maybe less), so I wanted to grab a sandwich. Because I have eaten there before with my family, I was familiar with their food. I picked up my dog and I was not going to sit inside of course, so I wanted my food to go. I k ow that most are aware of how small a 3 to 4lb chihuahua is not very big.. You would've thought i walked in there with a German shepherd they way the cashier reacted to me. I was so embarrassed! I just walk out continued walking my dog to the car and left. This was a hot day and i didn't want to leave her in a hot car. I just it would be quick. Well it was very quick. However, I still was in the mood for a pastrami sandwich, so i went down the street to Golden Ox burger and they had no problem with me.. When I walked in I said "I do not want to dine in is it okay if i order to go. They were like "that's fine we don't mind". The point of the matter is at Johnnys burger they didn't even ask or try to fine out if this was my service dog. I do have a none visible disability. Everyone is not as open about having a disability. Some of us want to feel normal, and be seen that way. My family, friends, and I will not be accommodating this place anymore. Updated July 30,3024 Gave it another try since it's under new ownership and now called better burgers. However on Google maps and Uber eats it still uses the Johnny burgers name.

Ordered through Uber eats The good: food was decent temperature. Well seasoned. Bad: taste I ordered a double cheeseburger special with heavy mayo. No mayo but worse yet was the patties. The patties tasted like they were boiled in water and reheated or something. Very yucky taste Wasn't worth the price. Never had a bad experience with the Johnny's burgers on la sierra or Madison st Excellent food consistently.

Four years go Come here, Johnny burgers at the riverside plaza, for years. Had a Very negative experience. Got 2 very over cooked burgers. Nicely asked if they could be remadecuz the patties were so dry. No problem but when the cook hear what I said and I explained why I asked them to be remade politely he was unprofessional, banging his knife on the cooking counter several times. It really took me a back bc I've come here since this place opened and he has been the cook for years and I've never been treated like that. Cowokers around him were trying to comfort him.
