I randomly found this place on maps while looking for burgers. Didn’t know it was smash burgers til I got there. It was pretty slow inside, so I wasn’t sure how the food would be.
The burgers we got (smac and cheese, truffle) were bang on good. One of the better smash burgers I’ve had. The Mac was good and was held in place by a fresh fried onion ring. The cheese melded into the double patties so well, thick and juicy and flavorful. Definitely would get it again.
The buffalo fries were a bit heavy on the buffalo sauce (more vinegary than I’d like) but overall decent. Fries were fresh, Nashville chicken was juicy (could use more heat). Might try a different fry next time.
The cashier and cook were very nice. Cook gave a good rec for the burger. And the food came fast.
The price is on the higher end. Each burger ALONE was $15-16 before tax. The place I compare smash burgers to is GoGo smash burger (now closed dang) - $5-7 for a burger and delicious. It is pricier, but still good. If the burgers were a few bucks cheaper, then definitely worth it.
Definitely worth a stop if you’re craving a smash burger...
Read moreThis place is just a tad expensive & it could take a little while for your order to be made but the food is delicious and the guys working there are really chill & happy to take your order.
We got there close to closing time and they didn't even mention anything about it or act like they were trying to get us the heck out of there so they could leave. He took our orders and then kindly offered us water cups to have a drink while we waited. We watched old NBA games with Kobe Bryant & Shaq way back when their careers had merely just begun so that was kinda fun and interesting to see. Other places would have no problem turning the TV off so no one gets comfortable.
By the time our order was ready, it was 15 minutes past closing time. I literally had no idea and realized after the fact because they didn't act like they wanted us to hurry and leave whatsoever. That was pretty nice and something much appreciated.
Will most likely eat here again next time I come back up to Riverside to visit...
Read moreUrban Skillet was within walking distance of our hotel, so we tried it out. My son ordered the Smac n Cheese burger. Onion rings, Mac n cheese, pickles, and double beef patties with cheese. It was served with a fork to eat whatever fell off. He offered me a bite, but it looked like once you pick it up, you can't put it down! He loved it!
The wife and I weren't that hungry, so we decided to split a brisket quesadilla, expecting it to be small, like 2 taco size tortillas. Nope. It was made with huge tortillas and stuffed full of BBQ brisket and cheese. Added some tater tots, which were fresh, hot, and crispy, and we could barely finish. It was awesome!
The only thing you can't get is a beer or wine. No alcohol...but I'll still be back since our son is starting at UCR...
