7 Brew Coffee — Restaurant in Riverton

Update per business response: They do serve Americanos, it's called "House Blend." I've updated to 3 stars. I'll try them in future and update this review when that occurs. (Original review) Okay, so here's the thing, I don't feel like I can give a legitimate review, yet. However, I think this 7 Brew needs to understand that if you are an espresso bar, an Americano is a staple item that coffee consumers should be able to count on as a menu item. I hope that a 1 star review can get there attention before they lose multiple potential customers (like myself) because they either don't provide americanos or their employees don't know what to do when one is ordered (what happened to me).

I ordered an Americano this morning, and the nice gentleman taking my order didn't know what that was (first bad sign). I told him, for the small it would be two shots espresso and filled with hot water. He got flustered and went inside to talk to manager or coworkers for help, he came back and said he'll order me house blend.

I figured that was code for Americano. I got the coffee and knew right away it was drip coffee.

Here's the issue with drip coffee, and why some people--such as myself--order Americanos instead. It's too much damn caffeine and doesn't offer the bright profile that espresso provides.

I am willing to give it another chance, but I'm genuinely worried for your business if you are an espresso bar and you don't offer—and employees don't know—what Americanos are. I wasn't ordering a less commonly ordered espresso drink like a cortado (which I wouldn't expect as it was a drive-thru espresso bar). Americanos are as ubiquitous as lattes and cappuccinos at coffee shops.

UPDATEmonth or so later... NOTHING HAS CHANGED WITH TOO MUCH ICE...EVEN WHEN YOU SAY LIGHT ICE We really love 7brew, we were driving to the other locations prior to this one opening. The only and biggest complaint I have is how much ice they put in the drinks. There is so much ice that you barely get liquid!! Which is what you are paying for. The other locations respect the light ice request and I really hope they will address it with the staff- I would hate to have to continue to drive to the Millcreek location when this is right in our backyard! I have been waiting years for a 7 Brew to come here and I couldn’t have been more excited to see we were getting one so close by. This is my new favorite coffee spot by a long shot. The staff here is incredible and so friendly it feels like being back in the South again each time I visit. The flavor choices are amazing and I love that each drink is so customizable- including how much ice they put in your cup per the other review.
