Subway — Restaurant in Roanoke Rapids

My African American mother recently went into 1601 Julian R Allsbrook Hwy, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870 on 3/31 where she wanted to use a coupon in the paper. She stated that the coupon shared a 7.99 combo. She asked the cashier several times would her subs apply to the coupon which she was promised they were. When she got to ring up her price came to 18$. She asked Why was it that price if she had presented the coupon. The cashier was new so she grabbed they attention of the owner/ manager for help. The white owners words were " Call the police". My mother never raised her voice, threatened or cursed at the owner. She asked why would she call the police if she can fix the order. The owner stated that she had no time to deal with folks like her and stated she can either pay for the food or go to jail, My mother was confused because she had initially been told that the coupon applied. She then asked if another sub could be created that will go along with the coupon and the owner stated that she could but the cashier would still ring up the sub she provided along with the old one. My mother asked for the 1800 number and the owners name but she refused to give it to her stating that Its her restaurant so it does not matter if she knows her name or not because nothing can be down to her. It is absolutely embarrassing for my mom to be publicly humiliated and ridiculed over a price of a sandwich. Again, my mom is not confrontational at all, she is petite and apposes no threat to others, let alone an aggressive manger. She paid for the food, but stated that she refuses to eat there anymore do to her unfair treatment. This location has significantly went downhill. The manager/ owner kept stating that it was her store and nothing can be done to her. My mom has constantly paid her hard earned money at this store! I remember spending my childhood here grabbing cold cuts, however after the recent discrimination I REFUSE to spend my money at this location and I will leaving reviews letting others know. My mom is truthfully hurt by this encounter because being a black person and having the police called on you for very minimal issues can lead to a tragedy. This Subway is a terrible place to eat. The staff is ignorant and not the least bit concerned about me the customer. I am disabled and use a walker to reduce my chances of falling. There is not enough room for me to get through the ordering area with my walker. Also there are so many products for sale that there was no place for me to steady myself. So I momentarily put my hand on the glass and one of the employees said that I could be subject to a lawsuit if the glass fell onto the food. No consideration of my accessibility needs and no sense that if I fell because of the inadequate accessibility features of this store that the lawsuit would be placed upon Subway Roanoke Rapids NC. I do not recommend this store at all and I may report them. They are not ADA compliant. The store is filthy and run down and the staff have no customer service skills. I would hope the owner reads this and brings some improvements to the place. On Premier Dr you will find a Jersey Mike store. Go there instead. MUCH better all the way around. The staff is friendly and place is clean. The food looked fresh and tasted good. Rating Would be 5 stars except for two things. This location do NOT make unsweetened tea. I paid for the combo without knowing this. They have tap water and bottled Dasani water. I dislike Dasani and gotten a different beverage that had sugar in it because I didn't want to waste money. So....combos are Now out..... Secondly..... Despite having two exit doors for customers, there is ONLY one way to get to the dining area and one way out. I dislike scenarios like that because I ate at a table while two guys sat at another table. I didn't want to pass by them again because something about them caused discomfort.
