Read moreDon't eat here. We walked in around 6pm and the place was kinda dead. Service was incredibly slow. Took at least 15 minutes to get drinks. My 3 year old was given an adult shaker glass. Then we asked for a kids cup but the server brought her drink in a rocks glass without a lid. After another 10 minutes or so the server came back to take our order. No kids menus available because they ran out, so we were told. At this point the beer I ordered last week finally showed up, and it was flat but I was thirsty by this time so I drank it anyway and we placed our orders. Server was not really sure about many of the menu items. Now, fast forward another 41 minutes and our food finally comes out, well some of it. But not my 3 year olds mac n cheese... Try explaining that to a hungry velociraptor. Yeah. So my wife ordered a filet, medium. Dry as the desert sand, no flavor. Baked potato wasn't cooked through, so we sent it back and were given another one with brown spots inside. My MIL ordered filet tips but what she got wasn't filet. Might have been sirloin, might have been flank steak, maybe it was shoe leather. And my MIL's mom ordered a blueberry mango salad. It had 10 blueberries and some small mango shreds. My meal was just OK, portion was fine but it had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while, as the pork on top of the pasta was dried out. After that it took another 18 minutes and 47 seconds to pay our bill. Worst $100 I've blown in quite a while. Oh, and kids drinks aren't included with their meals. On a positive note, there was lots of close parking and we didn't have to wait...
Read moreMy husband told the server that he was allergic to tomatoes and when his food arrived there were two big, thick slices of tomato on the plate. It would be no big deal to just take them off but there's juice, there's seeds, and who knows if that could have gotten into other parts of his food. We were bothered by the multitude of fruit flies, gnats or fleas that kept circling around us as we were trying to eat. When we mentioned this to the server, she just chuckled. And finally when I attempted to pay the bill, I gave the server two gift cards and my credit card. The gift cards were $25 and $1.93. When she brought my credit card back the amount seemed off. I had to get another server to let her know that I had questions and when she came back to the table she said that the one credit card had no money left on it. I realize it was less than $2, but still, it should have been applied to my bill as I intended. I called prior to coming to the restaurant to find out how much was on each of the cards and I was told $25 on the one and $1.93 on the other. At the very least, she could have given me that card back just so that I could check it again even though I had just done it an hour prior. My suspicion is that she didn't want to give it back because she knew there was $1.93 remaining. Of course, it's not going to break me, but it kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth for your restaurants. Speaking of a bad taste, the beer battered Cod that my husband ordered had a very heavy grease taste. I don't know if we will ever go to a Walnut Grill again, but if we do, we will be sure not to order...
