My experience at this establishment was not terrible, but overall left me wanting more which could be a good thing, however in this case it is not. Starting with the good, I was extremely pleased with the service which is the main reason for the stars. Our waitress was very attentive to our table and brought the food out very fast. The burger I ordered tasted good, but it was missing some components. Moving on to the bad, the menu advertised the burger as 1/2 pound which made my eyes light up. I am a huge burger guy and consume probably 5 or more weekly. I have reviewed hundreds of restaurants and know what a half a pound of meat looks like because I have experience. Whenever I order a burger that big, I notice how huge it is and it ALWAYS fills me up. Unfortunately this was not a half a pound of meat. I am not sure if this was intentional, or if they accidentally served a smaller burger but I was still hungry after eating it not just because it was not a full half pound, but there were just not enough fries with it. Fries are pretty cheap, and I am trying to get full so if you are going to short on the burger, please please please give me a pile of fries with it. As a customer I am telling you those extra two seconds taken to put an extra scoop of fries on my plate could turn a meal from bad to good. This was more like a small puddle and not really enough. Mainly, the burger needed to be bigger and it is not just this restaurant that is guilty of this, I have been finding at various places menus state that a serving is X amount of food when it is really much less. I understand times are tough, and the cost of food went up but please do not say 1/2 lb of meat if it is not that. I will reiterate that I probably consume more burgers than I do any other food so I know what I was holding was not 1/2 a pound. Because I was still quite hungry, my friend let me have some of his mashed potatoes which were completely tasteless. They literally had no taste, seasoning or any kind of salt. I can add salt myself but really? It is mashed potatoes at a steakhouse. They should have that in the bag. Good job on the service as the waitress was flawless, and good job as the burger did TASTE good, I would have liked more of it and more fries. Not entirely sure if I would come back, I would want to talk to the manager or someone regarding the portions because I needed more food after leaving. I was out with some friends which is why I did not send anything back or make a scene; plus I noticed the establishment was quite busy. For next time, if there is one, I need to go over what I will actually be receiving on the menu before I order it because now I am...
Read moreThis restaurant is a regular place for my wife and I. We try to go every week or two. The quality of the food is high and always consistent. The steaks are always tender and cooked exactly the way we order it! I always get the regular ribeye, with the sweet potato loaded and a cesar side salad. My wife likes the ribs and we tend to share each other's dishes. The potatoes are amazing, huge! I don't know where they get them...but theyre awesome. Sometimes the salads aren't the freshest. Often, there is the taste/aroma of the refrigerator, which suggests the produce is stored open. It should be covered to avoid this, or at least kept out of the direct wind from the fans. Otherwise the appetizers are, well, heavily coated or seasoned, so theyre high calorie, and should be seen as an occasional treat. We haven't ordered them lately because we simply get too full by the time the entree comes. Some of them are swimming in sauce. Some people like it that way. It we go for the meats, and they are consistently top notch. Sadly, my favorite drink is no longer offered. The mango daiquiri. 15 years I would get a daiquiri and a steak, now it's gone, and that's a shame. I look forward to it every week and its unavailable. That made me sad. Otherwise, the Margherita is good. The atmosphere is that of a family restaurant, but thankfully it's not as loud as other places because its a steakhouse, for serious eaters! The atmosphere was cute a decade ago, but is long overdue for a modern refreshing. The Remington bronze statue here in Rochelle Park is cool a good look, but a lot of the decorations are fake, and should be replaced or just cleared out. The servers have always been excellent, and worthy of gratuity, but occasionally, the hostess gets a little snippy. She sometimes refuses us a booth, when there are 4 of them empty for the 25 minutes we wait....and I want to sit down. I don't care that they're saving them for other customers who haven't shown up yet. Couples usually take booths, and I need them due to my back problems. Im taking the booth, and I don't care what you say, hostess! We spend a hundred bucks a week here. But shes not bad. She has a lot to keep track of. Its more policy that, to me, should be changed for my comfort. Its nit right to have to stare at several empty booths while were waiting for 20 to 30 minutes. All in all, the food is what really outshines all other minor quirks. We're picky people, but we always know what to expect and always...
Read moreAs a seasoned restaurateur in the fine dining industry, I appreciate the value of both high-end establishments and casual chains like LongHorn Steakhouse for their relaxed, neighborhood appeal. That said, my recent visit to this location was unacceptable and warrants serious attention from upper management.
From the moment my family and I entered, the experience was marked by disorganization and a lack of basic service standards. We were led to a table that had not been cleaned, forcing us to stand awkwardly for several minutes while staff attempted a rushed and inadequate wipe-down. Immediately after sitting, our server approached in a hurried and impersonal manner—asking for both our drink and food orders before we had even opened the menu.
Shortly after, we were served cold bread, which only further highlighted the lack of care. Frustrated, I went to the bar to order a drink, where I encountered one of the most unprofessional bartenders I’ve ever dealt with. The attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely inappropriate for any guest-facing role.
During our meal, a table next to us remained covered in dirty plates and used napkins for over 20 minutes. This is entirely unacceptable—no guest should be expected to dine beside someone else’s leftovers. To make matters worse, the kitchen area visible from the bar was visibly filthy. Anyone walking by can see the mess on the floor, which raises serious questions about food safety and cleanliness.
The food itself was bland and under-seasoned, but the more glaring issue was the management’s total lack of oversight. I watched the manager walk past every one of these problems without so much as a glance. Staff were disengaged, chatting among themselves while guests were clearly being neglected.
This location is failing on all fronts—cleanliness, service, food quality, and leadership. I strongly urge corporate leadership to step in, retrain or replace the staff, and re-establish operational standards immediately. Until that happens, I cannot in good conscience recommend this location to anyone. I expect someone from upper management to contact me directly regarding this unacceptable experience. If not, as as a serial restaurant owner myself I will reach out to the people that I need to to get this rectified - NO ONE deserves service as what I’ve...
