Update, 3 months later... We thought we would give it another try, this time inside the restaurant and it was worse then the last time. I ordered fish and my husband ordered the shrimp basket. Both meals were disgusting!! Absolutely gross. When mentioned to our waitress at checkout that my husband didn't even eat the shrimp she said, "oh was it slimy," he said yes and she said oh and still charged a full price. We paid the full bill, I wasn't trying to get out on not paying, but he didn't even eat it. As for my meal, the fish at Culver's across the street is way better than this restaurant. Save yourself some money and time and go to a different restaurant. We placed a carryout order on 5/11. It was absolutely horrible and definitely not worth the money. I've made this carryout order several times from this restaurant and though it's been steadily declining in taste and quality this was by far the most disappointing. The sauce was burnt, the noodles were mushy and it was half the portions we usually would get. The garlic toast was still bread with a burnt circle in the middle. We had to go back to the restaurant because they forgot some of the order. This carryout meal cost me $50 and we couldn't even finish the meal because it was just that bad. Photos show 3 different orders of pasta freshly opened from the bag and the garlic "toast."

Wow, did I happen to pick a great restaurant today! Alex of Rochester...Nice entryway, interesting ambiance, very bright, friendly and welcoming. A LOT of variance in their menu with belly-tempting selections. I was wandering all over that menu until I saw the Greek offerings. Could not settle on one of the three.. so I asked my waitress... Athina (with the great big smile) to surprise me. Wonderful choice...the Shish kabob with rice, fresh tomatoes and onions, with pita bread, and a side salad (see pics). She told me she chose that because she knew the pork was exceptionally tender..and she was right! Also let her choose my dessert and she brought me rice pudding with whipped cream. Yum :-) This review has to mention Alex' coffee. So good. Rich, not cloudy, great aroma and taste. All in all I had a really good meal with a great waitstaff that seemed to really get along well. Great spirit. Great stop. Highly recommend. Thank You Athina and all!

The absolute worst food and the absolute worst service. I have lived in Rochester Hills for 20 years and I’ve gone to Alex‘s for many years. Their service and food quality has gone downhill. I ordered carry out and upon arriving home these are my chicken sandwiches. I had also ordered two rice puddings. Which they forgot to put in my bag. We called the owner Alex himself and voiced our concerns and we requested a credit. Alex was extremely defensive, rude and made excuses for why the sandwiches were soggy. All he did was offer to remake our food. It was a very long day. My husband just had surgery and it was pouring rain. The last thing I wanted to do was drive back up to Alex‘s and pick up more soggy sandwiches. What a waste of $50. Threw it straight in the trash. They are horrible and do not care about their customers. Do yourself a favor and go to Rams Horn, National Coney Island, or George’s.

The hostess was nice but our server was super rude to us. I have no idea why. I think her name was Giya, she never introduced herself, that's what was on the bill. I greeted her when she came to the table 10 minutes after sitting down and smiled and she didn't respond. She just waited for us to order so we did. I ordered ranch and she didn't bring it so I had to ask again and there was hair in it but she left so quickly that I couldn't ask for a new one. She never asked us about the food or anything. And when she gave us the bill she didn't even look at us and just super quietly said thanks. I watched her cash out at least two other tables and she talked to them and smiled so I don't know why she ignored us and was actively trying to be rude. I went to cash out and had to wait at least 5 minutes for someone to do it which would have been okay but the guy just looked at me like "what do you want?" I left a 10% tip and regretted it as soon as I left. I always tip at least 20% but I felt so disrespected that I wanted to leave less than I did.

I'm used to being treated badly at restaurants by older waitresses because they think that young people will tip badly but this was extra. I'm not a rude teenager trying to get away with not paying or something. I'm dumbfounded as to what could have made her dislike us so much. It honestly ruined my day. Was it wrong to go out to eat with my little sister??

Also the food wasn't very good and they gave small portions. The table was dirty from the last people and the walls of the booth were gross with old stuff spilled on them.

As someone who used to be a waitress I...

I am currently here and I must say the waitress at the door was very polite and welcoming. I went in to pick up and door dash order at 10:20-10:30. Waiting the first ten minutes in the store. I asked one of waitress for an estimate, she went and asked the kitchen they says approximately a few minutes, I go back sit in my car for another 10 minutes. When I came back in two other orders are both prepared and larger orders then mine. The problem I have with that is food delivery apps DO NOT send you to a location spins they get an order. It’s very uncommon hence when you get to the store the food is normally already made unless the store is packed. We know this by simply using the food delivery apps just about each one starts off with a 30-45 minute wait. Meaning when a delivery person get there it normally means the apps estimated the time. Now for these two other orders to be read roughly at 10:40 and the people was not there placing the order when I was there for 30 minutes which means they neglected my order for whatever reason but I’m bringing this to the manager/owner attention. I hate to say it was for the color of my skin but I didn’t feel like everybody was being treated equally. If it’s a slow demand in the kitchen, hire help. The kitchen knew I was there and offered nothing not even a seat knowing I waited for nearly 45 minutes. I basically got my order once I stood there, once they got tired of seeing me they speed up. Seems like they wanted me to cancel the order. Overall seems like a wonderful place terrible kitchen staff!!!!! Unless you are dinning in do not count on equality at this...

Certain things on the menu are good and certain things are just not good at all. Like the stuffed peppers, there's just something about the meat and taste of it that is off-putting. And the breaded pork chops seem like Frozen patties that were just fried up and gravy thrown on them. Some menu items are good, however the pricing is way off. They haven't updated their menus and they will not give you a takeout menu when you ask for one. If you go online right now they have breakfast specials and the number one says it is $8.99. I went in and paid for it and it was $12.71 out the door. Asked why and was told everything cost more now so prices went up. Well that's fine but why would you not update that on your website, especially a $3 price difference for a breakfast. All they would have to do is take a picture of their menu and put it on their website. Weird that a place would update their menus inside but leave the ones online with old prices. And to be honest the person that checked me out seemed to have quite an attitude about it. I still left a tip even though I wasn't happy with the pricing, and I laid it down and she just walked away because she was irritated with me asking her why the menu price was different from online. I'm sure they get that question a lot but if you get that question a lot, why have you not done...
