READ THIS BEFORE GOING!!! ‼️

My boyfriend and I come here all the time for their fried chicken. Some of the staff recognize us by face. So believe me when I tell you that this place is great, not just tea and food wise but the people working there!

A while back, Kung Fu Tea (the company, since this is a chain) discontinued their curly fries and switched to only crinkle fries. My bf and I were really bummed because we didn’t care for their crinkle fries at the time. (I think they’ve actually gotten a bit better since then though). But then one day, we ordered our usual meals, I went inside to pick it up and the manager Evan told me they were out of crinkle fries so he gave us curly fries instead. I was like, “YOU HAVE CURLY FRIES!?” And he said he decided to just keep selling them because he didn’t like the new fries and people loved the curly fries. He said that after we place our order on the app next time, to just call and ask for curly fries instead of crinkle fries. When I tell you I was OVERJOYED. I went to the car and told my boyfriend and his face lit up.

So basically Evan is the absolute goat fr. And not just him, but everyone I’ve talked to that works there is always so incredibly nice. I’ve never once had a bad service experience there, even when they’re busy they always do a great job.

Okay, now for the actual FOOD part!

Black milk tea - My usual drink is a black milk tea with crystal boba, 30% sweetness, light ice. It’s good stuff. I used to order drinks at default sweetness, but then slowly went down in sweetness over time to cut back on sugar. I love my milk tea. Unfortunately I keep forgetting to try their other teas so I don’t have much feedback on that but I’m sure it’s good.

Fried chicken sandwich - HELL YEAH. So good. The bun is good, the chicken is good, just yuuuumm. And if you add ranch to it, it slaps

Chicken tenders - HELL YEAH. I dip em in ranch :)

Spicy chicken (you can make any chicken spicy) - very good. My bf always gets spicy chicken and I always get non-spicy, but I tried some of his and it was really good. I like the way it’s prepared, because they don’t just make the outside spicy, but the chicken actually has that flavor all the way through. Idk if they marinate it or what but it’s really good! I just don’t care for spice normally. As for the spice level, if you like spicy food it probably won’t bother you but it made me sweat a little since I never eat anything spicy.

Biscuits - YES YES YES. For whatever reason Kung Fu Tea stopped serving them with combo meals and idk why because they’re sooo yummy. They can get a little hard on the outside, so I recommend eating them as fresh as possible while they’re still soft and warm, otherwise they harden and I don’t like that personally.

Crinkle fries - honestly not bad, but not great either. Could be crispier for me, but it depends on how you like your fries.

Curly fries - hell yeah baby. Always. I don’t know why it being curly makes it taste better, it just does, I don’t make the rules.

Cheese curds - Evan gave us these when they were out of both fries one time, and my bf and I thought they weren’t gonna be good. WE WERE WROOOOONG omg these go so insanely hard. Eat them.

Coleslaw - no. Just no. I don’t know why I don’t like it exactly, but it tastes wrong to me. I’m sure other people like it, but it repulses me personally.

Mashed potatoes - I didn’t care for these either, honestly, but I also haven’t actually ordered them in a very long time so they could have improved.

Ube cheesecake - Evan gave us this when they ran out of fries. It is SO GOOD!! I absolutely love cheesecake and this one is delicious. I haven’t tried any of their other desserts yet but I just might have to now.

In conclusion, go eat there. Just do it. Give them all your money. They...

The location and staff were clean and great. The issue is with the company. Ive tried 90% of their menu (close to work coworkers go weekly) and none of it stands out. In fact i am always disappointed not because of the value but because the food and especially the drinks are not tasty whatsoever. Plus in what universe is a LARGE drink less than 16 oz and costs more than $7-7.50? This whole chain is a scam, how do you know? Because classic overchargers like Starbucks, Tropical Smoothie, and Beyond Juice seems like a bargain here. At Kung Fu a large drink is 16 oz and less if you add any kind of bobba and they start around $650-7. At Starbucks a large is 24-30oz nearly double, costs $5.95. How on planet earth is a chain trying to OUTPRICE Starbucks of all places? I can see Rochester people like my coworkers getting tricked but good look in other cities. This is a rip off i would never return here and that's coming from a guy that spends summers in Europe the literal countries of ripping...

This place used to be amazing, but I feel like someone else took over the franchise or something because for the last few months to half a year, it’s been cluttered with more gimmicks to sell and feels dead inside. It used to feel fun to come in here and it feels just uncomfortable. There would be fun music and anime on the tv and everyone was lively. One visit I had a woman who was quite literally mopping around my feet as I stood for my order and couldn’t wait for me to move and was banging chairs around. I hope they can get back to how they used to be. This was my favorite place for years and it feels so run down now 💔 also their bathrooms have been out of service for months and the kiosks are always down or at least the window says no public bathrooms anymore because they are too cheap to let customers use them...

Kung fu tea is a pretty consistent milk tea chain, and they have good quality oolong. I normally get a hot, honey oolong milk tea with boba and 50% sweet. Personally, I think most tea shops run on the sweeter side. The chicken sandwich was okay; the kwa kwa boa is not good (although it was an interesting idea - dirty rice wrapped in chicken skin and then fried (see picture)). This review is just for the boba, the chicken is 3/5 stars. This location has a good atmosphere, the staff is friendly, and they are wheelchair accessible.

Always really good boba and love the variety of flavors. I just went in and got a new drink but noticed these special purple yam and strawberry Sakura drinks. I didn't see any signage for them except right at the register. I asked how long they would be available as I had already ordered. One of the ladies said they had extra (strawberry Sakura on left) and gave it to me! Have always come in here on and off but this really made my night. Thank you!

I usually customize my bubble teas with multiple flavours at almost all the bubble tea spots i visit, only because most shops i go to dont have a predefined menu (Atleast not to a level that excites me) and left with no choice i end up customizing my teas. But Kung fu has a vast menu of unique bubble teas that are super cool and yummy. So far I am not disappointed. Gotta try em all 😅
