Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Rochester Hills

When ever you go to this place be ready to wait in a 35 minute or longer line, before ordering, and then after ordering be prepared to wait another 10-20 minutes. If you have things to do, or do not like waiting a long period of time, do not stop here. I went here a week ago, and the line was long as usual, and I was behind about 6 cars, plus there was 4-5 cars behind me. I waited for about 30 minutes and still had not reached the place to order, so i keep waiting. I see one of the workers come out of the back door, the driver two cars ahead had finally gotten to order, and then called the worker over to him, after he asked him something, he pulls around and leaves. The same worker then looks directly at me, and then at the other cars and he does not say anything to us. He puts the trash out and goes back in. The car in front of me moves up and he is waiting to order but nothing is happening, so then I see him pull around and leave, I get to the the place to order and nothing is happening, no one says anything. So then I see posted on the menu the hours, and notice they had just closed. I was very angry. WE cannot see the hours until we get to the speaker to order, and the worker who came out seen us waiting he could have said they were closed, instead of making us just sit there, to realize it on our own. Now mind you, we were all there way before they closed, but they took so long, to get through orders, that those of us who had not ordered yet, had the time wind down on us, and we did not know it. And then no common courtesy to say they had now closed. I will not be returning to this place, it is not worth the hassle, nor the time,...

!!! IF YOU ARE IN A GOOD MOOD DON'T RUIN IT BY COMING TO THIS LOCATION !!!

My SO and I pulled up at the drive through this morning at about 11:30. Someone came on the headset and said "hi are you ready to order?". They were very kind, but before we even got the chance to respond this woman came on the headset and said "EXCUSE ME, ARE YOU READY TO ORDER OR NOT?????". I was stunned. My SO was stunned. I ordered my smoothie and he ordered his. Service was thankfully quick but I honestly was so bothered by the way we were talked to that I asked who took our order. It was rude. When she came to the window I told her that. She said the original person had asked if we were ready to order three times (there wasn't even enough time gone by for that to have been the truth) and that it wasn't rude at all because stepping in is her job. I assume she's the location manager or whatever. It's unfortunate because this location is convenient but we will happily drive out of our way to another location and avoid giving this location any more of our time.

I wish I could give food more than two stars but her behaviour was so sour towards us it just ruined it a little. It's one star for each smoothie.

P.S. Thank you to the other reviewers for the good laugh, it was entertaining to read all the reviews confirming this issue also happens to other people. I hope lexi/rachel/whoever this woman was gets some help...

I went to tropical smoothie on Walton (order ID 3962558220335) on my lunch break. I ordered food at the cafe requesting a chicken bacon flat bread (no bacon). I confirmed this with cashier 3 times there would be no bacon, I came home to find there was significant bacon on the flat bread even though receipt noted, no bacon. I waited in the cafe for 20+ minutes waiting for food to eventually receive the incorrect order. In addition to this there was an individual smoking a cigarette on the outdoor dining patio so I was unable to sit outside. This should be concerning as health code in Michigan requires individuals to be at least 25+ feet away from an outdoor dining area/ restaurant. Not a good look for you tropical smoothie. But, the worst part was when I called to follow up on this order, calls can’t be taken at this location. Now, I have wasted $$$ on lunch order not even correct and no body is available to take my call to further remedy or assist in situation. Unfortunately I can’t afford another 20+ minute endeavor to correct order due to my lunch break ending. Bad business practices all around. Very disappointing, however the long wait is typical and understanding during busy rushes, the food should be correct snd customers should be able to enjoy outdoor eating/ dining area without consuming cigarette smoke.
