If you cannot handle being open on Christmas, then don't. Instead of fixing the issues/HELPING the customers, you're annoyed that people want their food in timely manner, which is less than 2 hours might I add. Because now you've not only caused issues with delayed food/if you're giving food at all, but you've packed your restaurant full of people intended for pickup orders who now have wasted HOURS of their Christmas holiday to not be given food or the time of day by staff. I was yearsss duration of a customer before you even moved to this location. After the lack of respect displayed from your employees/owners and not even being bothered to answer the phone (you literally picked it up to just hang it up which I witnessed multiple times) nor provide any sort of help, I'll never come here again. You took away time from my family I cannot get back on top of providing ZERO Resolution. Instead of owning it as a restaurant and realizing youre in over your head and attempting to rectify the situation you pushed your problem(s) onto your PAYING customers. Shame on you.
Edit: My oh my your reply is caught in a lie at it's finest. I never raised my voice for starters, as I barely had one to begin with. I had a hoarse voice from being sick the last few days... so good try there. And yes, over soup, mind you JUST soup? Right? You should be able to handle that with such wit? But obviously not. Also, I didn't order through doordash, I ordered through the STOREFRONT of doordash which YOU CHOOSE as a business to use. As a customer ordering online, what choice do I have since you wouldn't answer the phone to place an order. The phone was never answered the whole hour I waited inside the restaurant alone... Imagine being so greedy and such an angry person that you can't admit you're wrong and instead lash out at customers. Entitlement? I never asked to have my order ready first. Ever. and yes actually for you to understand how time works, 5:15pm to 7:15pm is indeed 2 hours. Or are you too busy being rude to customers to be able to tell time? But for soups, you take 2 hours to have 3 quarts of soup, and not even then. That's laugh-worthy. Point remains DONT STAY OPEN ON CHRISTMAS if you can't handle it. Apparently you cannot comprehend THAT as a business owner ;) Such gross behavior. Hopefully people will see soon the type of business and owner you are and take their business elsewhere like we are. Feel free to entertain your own madness with any further replies, you're lucky I even bothered with this one, ya know, because I'm...
Read moreMy wife wanted to come to this strip mall in order to go to Plato's closet. My wife and daughter went to Plato's. While waiting for her in the parking lot, I noticed this restaurant. My daughter was done shopping before my wife and she said she was so hungry. I read the menu for this restaurant online. Since they had numerous authentic Chinese dishes I was sold. When my wife was done shopping, we went to this restaurant. The restaurant is decorated in a simple fashion although it is warm and inviting. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We ordered Egg drop soup, Hot and sour soup( 2nd best hot an sour soup in the area imo ), spicy lamb, Beef stew in clay pot, Chicken in wine sauce, Beef chow fun ( Noodle dish ), Dim sum orders of chicken feet; steamed rice buns filled with bbq pork; and steamed rice noodle rolls. They gave us egg rolls on the house. I was impressed with that. The lamb and beef stew were solid. The egg rolls were cold and soggy. The fried rice was just white rice fried in oil with a splash of soy sauce I judge a Chinese restaurant on their fried rice. I understand its just a simply fried rice although this is a definite fail. The chicken in wine sauce needed help and was severely over salted. The Beef Chow fun was just average. The Dim Sum evaluation. The steamed rice rolls were good. The pork buns ok. The chicken feet were a fail. I actually feed them to my dog. Seriously, I fed them to my dog. I love chicken feet cooked properly. Overall the food was to salty. When I left the restaurant I needed to drink so much water. The bill for all the food we ordered was very reasonable. I can't speak for the American/Chinese dishes because we...
Read moreDreary, dilapidated restaurant - barely passable food. I love to give credit where credit is due but don’t shy away from giving criticism where it is appropriate. Unfortunately, with Oceania Inn there is a great deal to criticize. Before I go further I should clarify that my review reflects a woeful comparison of my current experience versus earlier experiences from years ago at their prior location - a gorgeous and expansive venue. For someone unaware of their previous pedigree and seeking only fast, cheap, uninspired food...you may be fine with it.
“Back in the day” it was a beautiful, bustling restaurant with a wonderful energy about it. The food was inspired and the service engaging and top notch. It was something of a destination dining experience. Sadly, the current location is small, drab, rundown and dirty. The restroom was filthy and terribly dingy. The food was cheap, came out quickly and the service was okay are the nicest things I can say about Oceania. That said, I barely touched my food it was so bland and “fast foodish” - in the most pejorative sense of the word.
All in all, dining there was a sad, unsatisfying experience. My first clue should have been the vertical posts outside the front door that prop up the crumbling brick edifice from collapsing onto the pavement in front of the entry way. If cheap and quick is what you’re after I’d much sooner recommend a host of other dependable fast food chain restaurants. Sorry to be a downer, but Oceania was a downer experience for me - they’ve come wayyyy down in the...
