I remember many years ago, this family had a restaurant in Oxford; Golden Dragon. I use to go when visiting friends in that area. Some of my favorite Chinese food in the state of Michigan.
I heard they re opened a new restaurant under a new name. So when I traveled home I made a point to drive that way to get some of the locals best.
Located in this big plaza while heading north it was tough to see signage. But GPS led me so fortunately I knew where to look. Plenty of parking outside so no issue in the lot. Few people waiting for carry out, was greeted with a warm welcome when entering. They were busy so I let em know I was in no rush.
Menus so big and I was by myself so i ordered more than I needed but I wanted to try more than one thing. It’s a bad habit but I do it often. A favorite of mine not found where I live now in Florida; is the Almond Boneless Chicken dish. I ordered that combo style which came with fried rice and egg roll. Crab Ragoon, pot stickers & golden bricks for dessert.
Plenty if room to dine in if you have the time, I went carry out and rushed back home which was a 30min drive. The food still held well, and the chicken was still crispy. 100% would have been even better there but I didn’t have the time. Both apps were held well and tasted great. The pot stickers sauce was spicy which was perfect.
As always the Lam family was working and saw both husband & wife working together and serving plenty of patrons. Always good to see them healthy and working hard. Next time in Michigan will stop by again. Great food, family owned awesome...
Read moreMy boyfriend I decided to order from this place based on great reviews.
I ordered crab rangoons, and chicken lo mein, he ordered young child fried rice and orange chicken, totaling a very hefty price.
While the crab rangoons were really good, the dipping sauce was very oily/greasy and had a very vinegar/y aftertaste to it. The lo mein was bland. While it looked like quality (fresh) ingredients were used, the chicken was white and flavorless (cooked white meat, absolutely no seasoning). The broccoli had a peculiar smell to it, and the taste was a little off-putting. The sauce was extremely watered down, barely any flavor, and all settled on the bottom of container anyway, since it was just colored water. It wasn't bad, the lo mein, just very bland and flavorless. In addition to that, I got sick after eating the food and spent half the night in the bathroom.
For his order, he never got young chow rice, just plain white rice. The orange chicken was very similar to the lo mein - watered down, barely any flavor, and the taste resembled more of the sweet and sour mixed with vinegar than orange chicken. Also, the vegetables in it smelled weird, but taste-wise they didn't feel like anything but some vinegar.
On top of that, the woman that gave us our order had a very unpleasant attitude toward us.
Tldr - crab rangoons are 5/5, everything else is probably an...
Read moreReally want Chinese food and found Lam Taste. So I ordered general tso chicken, deluxe lomein, crab rangoon and golden bricks for dinner with my family. The foods were ready to be picked up when I arrived so we had the dinner nice and hot. The size of the entrees were large and we had leftovers for tomorrow (free second meal, so no complains!) Crab rangoon was amazing with cream cheese and crab meet in it, always a nice appetizer before meal. As for golden bricks they were new products as desserts and we always like sweets after dinner, so we added an order and we were quite satisfied with the crispy and sweetness. Overall, it was an amazing dinner and definitely will go back again for...
