Recently, I ordered a glider from the Home Depot website. Upon pickup at the Rochester Hills, MI store, I noticed the box was torn on one corner, and the unit's leg was slightly scuffed. After unboxing, I discovered the frame was bent, likely due to forklift mishandling.
I returned to the Rochester Hills store, where I was assisted by Wanda, an exemplary customer service representative. After explaining the situation, Wanda showed genuine empathy for the inconvenience I experienced. When I expressed my desire to reorder, she suggested I place the order via my phone while she phoned Home Depot's customer service for website orders to ensure the replacement would be satisfactory.
As Wanda processed my refund for the original unit, she went above and beyond by calling Home Depot's central customer service. She meticulously explained the situation, emphasizing the extra effort required on my part – from pickup to unpacking, repacking, and returning the damaged item. Wanda's primary concern was preventing a similar occurrence and arranging for the new glider to be shipped directly to my home.
Although express shipping wasn't possible, Wanda's persistence resulted in a price adjustment that wouldn't have been offered without her excellent advocacy. Impressively, even while assisting me and navigating on-hold times on the phone, Wanda efficiently multitasked, helping other customers in the store.

Read moreI purchased a new dishwasher online with delivery and installation, pretty straight forward order. The unit arrived fine with no damage but the chosen installer refused to complete the install because my water supply shut off valve was copper and he would not screw the new washer line I had bought onto the copper threads. As crazy as this seems, yes, it was as simple as screwing a fitting onto my shutoff valve. I instructed the installers via phone (I was not home at the time) to leave the appliance and I would take up the installation with the store directly. Not only did the installer not leave, but after standing there for 30 mins they called their boss who told them to complete the install which they did and left. During this time I attempted to call and after going through multiple agents I was transferred to the floor manager at the store. He did not believe the issue I was having and said he would need to call me back because he was on the floor and didn't have time to deal with my issue.
At this point I have wasted hours of my time for something which I believe to have not been a real issue because they sent a TEAM of inexperienced installers. I also have not heard back from the store manager even just to let me know the install was completed, although I am not surprised after reading some of the other reviews. I find it ridiculous that a 10 minute install which I paid over $100 for somehow turned into such a mess and I received no support from the installer or the manager. 1/5 stars, not bad to shop here but god forbid you ask for an employee to actually do the job they...

I hope management takes some action against these unpleasant and racist employees. if it is first time its like ok, but it keeps happening only certain people then what that means, never experienced this type of behavior before in any other store.
