A Mexican restaurant inside a Deli in Bloomfield Hills. None of that makes sense nor does it matter once you take a bite of their delicious, fresh and well seasoned food!
Been there three times and we swear it’s gotten better each time.
First of all the ingredients are fresh and they use a lot of chopped lettuce, cilantro, onions, peppers and jalapeños. You can tell it’s fresh because all the veggies are firm and not brown. They really do a nice job complementing the proteins that are seasoned just right. Many Mexican places over salt or pepper their meats, not here, it’s well balanced. Their sauces are yummy too.
We’ve had a few of their tacos, nachos, and quesadillas. The Korean BBQ is a nice surprise! It had a nice sweet finish and that’s is spiced up by the fresh jalapeños. Their carnitas as not greasy at all and well cooked. The shrimp are huge, lightly breaded and topped with a chipotle sauce that has a lot of kick! The nachos are huge, we got it with the chicken and it was not over cooked and seasoned well. The queso and other sauces were on the side which was a welcome change. Look at the picture with all that fresh cilantro, tomatoes, onions, green peppers and jalapeños! The refried beans were light and fluffy. The cilantro lime rice blows away any other rice we’ve had.
Customer service is great, they are very friendly as well. Give this place a try, you’ll be...
Read moreWow! After the prior Mexican restaurant failed, I really didn't know what to expect. Our neighbors recommended Los Gato's to us and I went straight away knowing it was my turn to provide dinner tonight for the Family (4 of us). I ordered the 12 pack of taco's and I have to tell you - every one of the four different tacos was amazing and the portions were generous and left us full. We moved back here to Rochester Hills after 15 years in Chicago where it's tough to find a bad Mexican meal. I would put this place up against any taco joint in the Windy City for sure. I carried out, but the remodel makes the dining area inviting, clean and comfortable. I met Brandon, one of the owners (this is Family owned) and was super friendly and offered up a lot about the menu and how they prepare the food. Everything was super fresh and very flavorful. Just enough cilantro and the homemade salsa's were great. Brandon thanked me for coming in and threw in chips and guacamole which are both made in-house and fresh just like the entire menu. You can always tell a great Mexican place by the proteins - how were they prepared and this place is slow and low with love. Overall - I'm thrilled it's there and will be back early and often. Great job Brandon and Family! TJ P.S. Sorry, I didn't take pictures, but we were starving and everyone dove into the meal before I could snap...
Read moreGreat new-ish Mexican restaurant.Los Gatos Tacos replaces the Carnival restaurant. Honestly, a vast improvement. Service is great. Suggestions and exceptions let you get the best out of your choices. Delicious food. I would appreciate a salsa bar or more accessibly to salsa and hot sauce instead of little cups. Giant burritos. It’s hard to finish it in one sitting. I like the beany cheese and California avocado burrito. The queso and chips are Fantastico even though my daughter thought that they could have been cooked a little longer. Open and airy dining space. Cool day of the dead style cat logo. We, my girls and I really enjoy it here and look forward to a great, hearty, delicious meal every time we pick Los Gatos for dinner. Foods great. Service is great. Bathrooms super clean. Not much else to say, but try it yourself. It’s one of my new favorites and I’d go out of my way for a New Mexican style restaurant. Keep up the good work. Muchas Gracias! Highly recommend and will...
