The food was good and the service was very kind. However ultimately this place was horribly run. You cannot make any customizations to any menu items (aside from spice level). The roof was leaking and they seated a portion of our party under the leak. The restaurant was completely empty aside from another party of three (so why didn’t they seat us elsewhere without a leaking roof?). A part of their Mayuri sign fell down and almost hit a customer dining in next to the wall (fell onto their table). The power went out and it went up to around 90 degrees in the restaurant. This was before our food arrived. A quick walk outside showed every neighboring storefront had lights on. So we asked if they all must have generators and this restaurant didn’t. Walking in the lights are very dim and cheap. Overall the establishment quite literally was falling apart and looked like it was headed towards shambles. Hopefully this is just a one time thing. But until they fix the structural issues and the generator problem we won’t be dining here any time soon. A wholly underclass experience not befitting a prime location in Rochester. Food was great (though uncustomizable and possibly too spicy for average person), so if you desperately want to try Indian food in the area I recommend getting take out. Looks like DoorDash is their main business,...
Read moreThe food was good. Want to mention the mutton biriyani was different and tastes amazing. There was two mutton items, usually not common. Chicken biriani and curry was also good. The jackfruit biriyani was a surprise and for vegetarians it is a good option as compared to the boring veg biryani. Rasam, sambar and curd rice we haven't tasted but smelled good. The main course, is good as compared to my other experiences. Starters were average. Like mention the chicken fry, hot crispy and tasty. Mushroom items was ok ok. The two drink dispenser were not working. I don't complain as the food was good. Deserts were not what I expected. I don't like the taste of any items in the desert section.
The only issue was Mayuri has a clumsy dining space and you can not say a fine dining experience as paper plate and disposable cutlery were given. Packaged drinking water with paper cups is at all expected.
I understand that the day we went was a Sunday and it was Tamil and Bengali new year and week before it was Ugadi. So waiting for our turn was expected. They should expand.
In summary, it was a good experience as the food was good especially the main course. Ambience was below average but service and cooperation of the staffs were very good.

Read moreI have visited this restaurant at least twice before and had no prior complaints, but my most recent experience was deeply disappointing and concerning. I ordered the Channa Masala, and upon eating it, I became violently ill. I attempted to eat as much as I could, but I ended up regurgitating the food almost immediately. It was clear something was wrong with the dish.
I contacted the restaurant to report the issue and request a refund. To my surprise, I was informed that I would need to return the food in order to receive a refund. I explained that this would not be possible, as the food had already been expelled and was no longer in a state to be returned. I was then told, once again, that the only option was to bring it back and they could replace it. I found this response not only unreasonable but also dismissive of the fact that I had just gotten sick from their food. Why would I want more?
I have never experienced this kind of response from a restaurant after reporting a food safety concern. I didn’t get an apology or anything. While my previous visits were acceptable, this experience was unacceptable, and I will not...
