China One — Restaurant in Rochester

They lost a customer today. They had 30 minutes to prepare my order and it was 30 minutes late. I get a 30 minute lunch break. I called in 35 minutes ahead (4:55pm) and ordered for pickup at 5:30. I waited 25 minutes in line. Break ends at 6:00pm. By the time I finally got my food, I had 1 minute to get back to work eat and so now I will spend the rest of my shift hungry. The food is great...it really is. But if you can't be even remotely on time, you can't have my business. I regret the very fat tip I gave them. Absolutely will not be back. Do not recommend if you want your food on any kind of schedule. You will just be hungry and disappointed smelling something delicious that you can't eat. Now I'm having a bad day...

Crab rangoon and egg drop soup are the Best in town. I had shrimp with cashew nuts, it was extremely good. I prefer more cashews, just my individual taste. We had the lunch menu, the portion size is compared to a full menu item at some other establishments. I had enough for two meals. My companion who has a larger appetite had the pork egg foo young. Which was also excellent and very pleased with the portion. We originally were going to eat in. The staff was very accommodating when we had to change it to a take out order. My wife and I had dinner at China One and were truly impressed. We ordered Orange Chicken with noodles (instead of rice, for an additional $2) and two crab rangoons, as well as Lo Mein Chicken with fried rice and one egg roll. The portions were incredibly generous—so much so that we couldn’t even finish half the meals!

The taste was excellent, with well-balanced flavors, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

Overall, we had a great experience. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be eating here again!
