We went for the first recently, family of 5. Reserved a bay about 10 days in advance. We arrived (Saturday) and place was very full. We soon realized it was bingo going on. The bay we reserved wasn’t available due to bingo. There were people in the bay eating band playing, unsure exactly why we couldn’t use it…..but we went to the one next to it instead. We didn’t know where to check in when we arrived. Very unorganized. Another family was there, we waited while they gathered things to move. It was about 10 minutes after our reservation time, but we finally were together. There was literally no where to set due to the large number of people playing bingo. The hostess showed us step by step how to change the touch screen to different games. I really appreciate the instruction- I’m not tech savvy. It was quite easy to do. We did order some drinks and food. There is a pretty good size menu with options for most everyone. Food came quickly and was hot. We selected the large pretzels 🥨 and nachos. They were both very good. The kids especially enjoyed the pretzels. We played a few of the carnival type games. Did t-ball and golf. The golf clubs were only left handed. We are all right. She offered to rent us right handed clubs for $10 😳 So I paid for the room, but it’s not fully equipped with everything you need. We were let down. There wasn’t a football either…..but we just played soccer instead. For the fee of the room- which it’s more of an alcove- not an actual room. I felt there would be working equipment. Overall, it was just ok. The bingo ended as our time ended too. It totally cleared out. The noice level was suddenly much improved. There were places to sit and menus again. We used the online option as none available when we arrived. I wish we would have known about bingo. We could have made reservation for an hour later and had a much more enjoyable experience. It wasn’t too busy after the...

Did not have a good experience from the time we walked in. This is the first time we went being very excited to try it out. We stood at the hostess stand for about 10 minutes and people just looked at us. So we walked up to a table and sat down. No one came to our table to see if we needed anything for another 15 minutes while we sat right next to the bar and we're clearly seen and walked by multiple times. Finally we stopped a server walking by and told them we were new and wasn't sure how it all worked. She said she would grab a server for us and walked away. A guy came and asked what we wanted literally as he walked by, didn't even stop. We moved over to the bay we rented and a family was still there eating and playing. We didn't get to start until about 10 minutes after our starting time. Once in our bay no one came over the entire hour to see if we needed anything. We had to go up to the bar, and even there no one cared to serve us and we stood there a long time. Mind you it wasn't even busy with 5 or 6 employees just standing around. But they were very quick to tell us our time was up in our bay before it was up and brought us our bill. If service was better you sure could make a lot more money and have return customes. Service was the worst I ever had and the bay didn't hardly work for anything we did. It didn't register half of the things that hit the screen. Not sure we would...

We reserved a simulator bay on my daughter's 9th birthday for our family of 4. My sister and bro-in-law ended up joins us. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas for the adults to improve our aim. After our hour in the simulator bay we were given the bill. We were charged for the $60 rental and the $20 pitcher which was what we expected, but they added a large party/group gratuity on the entire bill because there were 6 of us. We didn't order anything else requiring a service that a reasonable person would consider a reason to tip a server.

I don't see how the simulator rental should require a tip. There was no service the staff provided over and above the rental fee. When I inquired about the large group gratuity on the total bill the women working was rude about it and said it's the company policy and when I asked if I could speak to the manager she stated that she was the manager. I stated that I wasn't willing to pay the manditory gratuity charge for the entire bill, she ended up removing it and stormed off.

Maybe I'm the unreasonable one, but I think the tipping expectations have gone off the rails. Tips are for quality service, not an entitlement to people in the service industry. We were provided a poor service experience but I still left a cash tip for some dumb reason. Pretty sure we won't go back...

Went with friends on a Saturday afternoon. When we arrived we weren't greeted until we wandered around and finally someone walked up to us. We spent some time reading the menu but decided on the margarita pizza, midlife crisis burger, nachos (beef because they ran out of chicken), and a bacon pickle burger fri-rito. The food took a half hour to first arrive to the table, just the pizza and nachos, we were assured that the burger and fri-rito would be right out. Another 10 minutes passed and the burger arrived, and then another 20 minutes for the fri-rito. The fri-rito was supposed to come with 1000 island dressing and when I asked about it, I was told that they were out of that sauce. I was offered ranch in replacement and the ranch was really good. The fri-rito was hot but the fries were cold. I was surprised with the size, I was expecting a larger portion but the size was that of a smaller egg roll. The flavor was okay, the bacon was more like ham than bacon. Our waitress was very kind but the wait and cost to portion wasn't what we wanted. We also learned after the fact that the fries were an additional 3$, the thicker crust was an additional 2$ and neither of these were posted anywhere on the menu.

Rochester may be the only city on the planet to be home to an entertainment complex like Chip Shots. It opened in early April and may be one of the hardest venues to get into in the near future, based on early customer response. I went there Friday, April 29th with my wife and her sister/brother in law. We went around 4:30 and as you can see in the photos, there weren’t many people there. But it was a completely different story by 6:00 pm as all the entertainment rooms were in use, the kitchen and bar staff were very busy and the ambience level rose significantly. The menu is pretty good for an entertainment venue like this and the bar offerings were very impressive with a good selection of beer and mixed drinks (all top-shelf liquor). Reservations are needed for the entertainment offerings. Be sure to check their website for more info. I had a good conversation with co-owner Dave Kinneberg and he vowed they will get even better. Another co-owner is Rochester hometown hero and former Gopher/Vikings football player Marcus Sherels, who is a frequent face at the place. His other business is just feet away.
