I booked online for a hair coloring, style and brow wax. I also spoke with someone on the phone prior to coming in, letting her know my coloring needsā darker purples and maybe dark reds. I was booked with Emmy, whom I was told could meet my coloring needs.
Upon arriving at the salon, Emmy and I spent about 5-10 minutes chatting about my coloring needs, which didnāt change from my phone call, but I was told that sheās a ārenterā and doesnāt have the colors I wanted. (Emmy advised she purchases her own coloring supplies.)
Disappointed and frustrated, I asked her to simply do a shampoo, wash, blowout and flat iron. While performing all of those, Emmy never made conversationā not once. While water got in my ears, she didnāt even acknowledge that. (Mistakes happen, obvi. But not even acknowledging it felt like I was wasting her time.)
Upon finishing the blowout and flat iron, Emmy didnāt ask if I liked what she did, didnāt ask if I wanted any productā absolutely not a thing to see if I liked how my hair was styled. She also didnāt offer to do the brow wax I had booked, and at that point I didnāt ask, because I wasnāt interested and simply wanted to leave. I still tipped Emmy $8.
I then chatted with another stylist who could do my coloring needs the next day, and ultimately I emailed the salon to cancel, because this experience was pretty poor and disappointing in my opinion.
Theresa, The owner of the salon, Left me a voicemail and email asking me to relay my experiences. I sent a polite and friendly email, letting her know that the biggest thing for me was that itās not my obligation, as the client, to know who rents space in the salon and what supplies they carry. Furthermore, the services I received from Emmy were mediocre at best, and I walked away disappointed because I didnāt get anything I asked for originally.
Theresa has not, as of this review, replied or acknowledged my email. (Pretty telling, huh?)
Overall, this is one of the most disappointing, worst experiences I have ever had at a salon.
In good faith, I could never recommend r!ah Hair Studio to anyone, and I have zero intentions of ever returning ever againā and Theresaās lack of acknowledgment/reply to my email solidified...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI read reviews before trying a new business or restaurant, so I hope this review can help someone else. Ra!h was a new experience for me and NOT a good one. After attempting to trim my own hair for the last year of quarantine, I decided to give Ra!h a call. Kelsey a stylist answered the phone and we talked for a few minutes. Kelsey assured me that she could meet my needs. I specifically told her that I wanted to clean everything up, even up the layers and shoot for less layers in my hair. She had a 30 minute appointment available so suggested I come with my hair washed and dried so that she could do a "dry cut". I was on time, but was kept waiting almost 15 minutes. Kelsey straightened my hair with a flat iron, cut the back straight across, and then pulled up a few random sections of hair and made a few snips. (I think I counted 7 total cuts). She was done cutting my hair in less than 12 minutes. The result...now instead of having a couple of different sized layers when I section off my hair to curl, I have 3 or 4 wildly different lengths of hair that I try to close a curling iron over. In a 1/8 X 2 inch section, I can have over a 1 inch hair length difference. My "bangs" look like what my sister gave me when she was 5 and I was 2. It is like nothing I have ever seen from a professional. You know that feeling when the hair cut is so bad you just want to get out of there as fast as you can? That was Ra!h. Kelsey's parting words to me..."You're lucky that having lots of layers is in right now". Ummm...not so lucky when that's exactly what I didn't want...more layers. Ra!h was anything but a "lucky"...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just went in today for a scheduled 8 AM appointment just to be shown the door. I had asked for a hair cut and color and was assigned to the stylist Hope. I was running 10 minutes late and I went in at 8.10. Then there was not a hello or welcome, I was taken inside. I wanted to discuss the styling/ color options with the stylist. Thats the service that we pay for. I thought it was not great clips to just get in and cut and leave. I was just deciding the color to get when the stylist told me very rudely that I am already late and I am taking too much time and She will not be able to color my hair as I was late. She said she was not booked for that long. Is that my mistake? I did no ask for a free styling. I was treated like beggar. I don't know of it has anything to do with my color/race. Every customer has to right to be undecided for sometime and it is the duty of the stylist to first make her comfortable. R!ah is the worst place I have been to ever in my life. They offered me an appointment on Monday evening. But I would be a very crazy person to go there again. Thanks R!ah for spoiling it for me. I would give a 0 star if there...
