This has always been a favorite but I have to say since Bernie sold out it's not a +5 star anymore. Order on the phone they tell you 15-20 minutes and you arrive in 10 to luke warm food. Also, the quality has dropped from always excellent to sometimes good. What the menu shows vs what is delevered is two different worlds. Just look at the pictures. Order a grilled italian and you get what ever they throw in, mine had coleslaw instead of lettuce, skimpy on the cold cuts hardly any onions or bannana pepppers and 1 slice of tomatoe on each half of a 9" sub. I should rate a 1 but am being generous. 2 pictures follow, what I received vs what I should have received.

The sub bread isn't anything like I am used to but that aside they were delish and super fresh. I used online ordering and it was packed and ready to go in time for pickup. I wouldn't order a hot sub unless planning to eat it right away. The thin bread can't sustain it. The parking lot isn't the easiest to enter and exit during busy lil downtown hours. Staff was friendly and the place look clean. Will order again. We were so hungry we didn't take pics of the subs opened 🤣 I can't give less than 5 stars just because it was different.

Penn Station is my Husbands and my favorite sub shop. The food is great and the people are even better. When I'm in a bad mood, my husband knows to bring me there. It's a deli sub joint. Fries are made to order. You can see them put a potato in the slicer and then cook it. It's super delish. Also, their homemade cookies are oh so good. I would recommend Penn Station to everyone. The Penn Station in downtown Rochester is the best. Maybe because it's the original Penn Station. I love the grilled Italian sub the best. Yummy.

In my opinion this experience has been very poor for any penn station. I ordered online, which was fast and easy but from the moment I walked in I noticed an array of problems. First, I was not acknowledged for arriving, nor asked if I needed help. I was there to pick up my online order, no one even bothered to ask me. I stood where the online order pick ups were to stand, but again Ignored. I was forced to wait for the line to be taken care of before anyone even asked me anything, so what was the point of online ordering? I noticed a sandwich was on top of the griller and assumed it was mine. It was probably placed on top of the grilling unit to keep it warm? After waiting for everyone else in front of me to acquire their food I finally approached the check out station to ask about my online purchase. Red flag number two, the young girl who was far too timid to even speak up was ACTIVELY BLEEDING on her hands. I eyed her hands and gave her a look of disapproval. The Store manager was running around and didn't have time to speak to me about the situation. After staring at the lone sandwich longingly for ten minutes and giving them hints of disapproval I finally asked for my sandwich, to which they tried to find it. The workers obviously noticed I was standing there for far longer than average and immediately realized what sandwich they were looking for and they finally handed it over. The sandwich was not hot anymore, resting it atop that griller did not do it any good. Red flag number 3: The other worker who was making sandwiches behind the counter (and found my sandwich) WAS NOT WEARING GLOVES. I noticed only the manager and one other worker wearing gloves at the time while the girl making sandwiches and the young men picking up uncooked fries to measure out portion sizes was not. This highly upset me. There were several other complaints from other customers about this establishment at the time of my dining experience, and needless to say, I won't be returning to...

First time getting Penn. It is tough to give a positive review, more than likely wont spend $ on it again.

Ordered 2 large Italian grilled, one everything. One no Oil & Vinegar/no dressing at all. Large fry. 2 cookies. $50+ bucks. Ordered inside, to go. Live literally 2 minutes away.

Watch em put dressing on both. Called it out. The associate stated they were sorry and said we can fix it and wanted to pull all the stuff off of it down to the meat and start over. I asked if they can just remake it since my wife cannot stand vinegar and more than likely it's on the bread and meat. They did.

But my sub and fries were done and sitting while they redid hers. My sub was completely sogged, to an almost un-eatable measure. Tossed mine in the air fryer for about 4-5 min to try and salvage the bread. Somewhat worked.

Fries were completely Luke warm at best, was not a fresh drop 100%-- warming lamp. You could tell they had been around for a while. Like those fries you accidently leave out at home and then eat one a hour later, pretty much that. They went in the air fryer as well w/ the sub.

As a former fast food manager, I was surprised to see a lack of timer(s) used on items to secure freshness within a reasonable timeframe.

Not trying to bag on em, just call it how I see it. 2 stars only because it was very clean and...

I've been here a couple of times since they shut down the Subway downtown. The prices are all right in the meat and cheese are fresh. It's a small place. However, the several times I've been there, it's always very young people working who are extremely rude. When I didn't know my entire order immediately upon walking in the door since it was my first time there, the cashier looked at another employee and said that I was taking too long and that she was going to do something else and if it was okay with him to help "that customer" when I finally decided. I've only been there less than 1 minute. The place was even crowded. In fact, I was the only customer. every time I've been there, they are extremely rude towards people. Maybe it's just because it's their first job for everybody there and they've all grown up having absolutely no training in customer service, and the business doesn't seem to have any care to teach them that they shouldn't be jerks to everybody...
