Our family chose to celebrate our Thanksgiving at The Meeting House on Saturday, November 30th. Most of our visit was a positive experience but our daughters-in-law both ordered the steak and frites and took most of it home because it was so salty, it was inedible. (Our daughter-in-law who lives in Rochester said it's not typically over seasoned, she orders it every time she and my son dine there.) They didn't want to complain or send it back because they didn't want to put a damper on the evening but they both admitted they didn't enjoy their meal. Our plate of calamari was very chewy and contained more tentacles than rings, which was disappointing. I was also disappointed in the portion size of the lightly smoked chicken meal but it was very good.

Both toilets in the women's restroom were out of order and we were told there wasn't another restroom we could use. That was a pretty big inconvenience.

The positives: Our server was friendly and attentive. The remaining dishes we ordered were very tasty and the desserts and drinks were delicious as well. As a non-drinker, I was happy to see a mocktail section on the drink menu and the blackberry mule was really nice.

All in all, it was slightly disappointing for the $400 we spent but we still had a lovely time together and the...

Six months ago I left a review of this place on how wonderful it is but I would like to update again! On May 1st, this past Sunday, we celebrated my son's First communion Reception at The Meeting House with a party of 20 and I am very happy that we were able to celebrate at this fine establishment! They have an upper level, private loft that is just beautiful! This area is perfect for family events, birthday parties, etc! Our two servers were very attentive and kind, going that extra mile to make things just perfect. The most important aspect of a well deserved five star is their food! Everyone loved the appetizers so much that we ordered a second round! We chose their incredibly unique and tasty chicken wings, their crispy calamari and their breaded cauliflower. For our dinner selection we choose filets, which were cooked perfectly with a well chosen variety of medium rare to well done options. The salmon was also cooked perfectly, very moist and tasty. The salad and green beans were amazing as well as the red potatoes. They also make a killer Blood Mary that is a must try! I highly recommend The Meeting House for a special event, a night out or a Sunday Brunch. You will not be...

I found the place to be a bit pretentious, for a general pub, but what do I know I am an East sider. The drinks all cost around ten dollars or more and a glass of wine is eight and above; a bottle of beer runs you at least five bucks. I/we ordered burgers and fries with a double patty, twelve bucks. The price of the burger combo wasn't horrible but not really worth it either. They used a sweet pickle on the burger and I am not sure what kind of fries these were but they were bland. The burger wasn't bad but it tasted like the chef had pressed all of the juice/fat out of it during cooking, it was on the dry side.

The service was slow at first, the immediate greet and drink order took some time to occur; a table of 5 ladies sat down next to us and left after about 10 minutes of no service, we had contemplated leaving too.

The menus are on a wooden clipboard, it's unique but not necessary or easy for the customer to peruse. The interior is okay, more up front window seating would be better. Overall there's nothing that really impressed us, but it wasn't horrible either. I know it's Rochester but I personally think you should stay in your lane, be a true pub and lose the...

We recently moved back towards Rochester Hills, MI again, and today, we decided to revisit downtown's main street. Amid Japanese hibachi and American steakhouses and burger joints, The Meeting House stood out as the dining destination for our tastes. Established in 2012, The Meeting House boasts locally sourced ingredients for its modern American menu. The interior has an industrial meets farmhouse aesthetic, like you'd see on HGTV's Fixer Upper. We ordered a couple of the day's specials: Moroccan spiced chicken soup with chickpeas, and the fried brussel sprouts. My boyfriend ordered the dried blueberry salad and cauliflower tempura for his entree, and I had the shrimp and grits for mine. The generously portioned shrimp and grits included mustard greens, grilled ramps, cubes of pork belly and tender, juicy prawns. You also get a craft paper bag with what I believe are pretzel ends, no dips or butter, just lightly seasoned and fluffy bread sticks! :) If my boyfriend hadn't already baked a chocolate cake at home, we would have ordered their interpretation of strawberry shortcake: biscuit bread pudding with chocolate mousse and strawberry jam. Yum!
