DON'T TRUST THIS PLACE! THEY ARE THIEVES!
My husband hosted my 30th birthday here on 11/14. We had a total of 17 people attend the birthday dinner. We all ate, drank and laughed. Our waitress was Bridget Morris. From the start of the night, something to be a little off with her. When guests asked her questions regarding the menu she told each person something different. My husband and I had to ask her to come back to us after she was done taking orders because we were still confused about what was included with our entrees. We didn't think anything of it we just thought she was newer. When the bill came we signed it and went about our night. Something still wasn't feeling right after signing. She never gave us the itemized bill, we had to call and ask for it to be emailed to us. After cross checking the bill with our guests, which was so embarrassing asking each person what they ordered that night, we learned Bridget overcharged us in the amount of $508.45. My husband called and talk to the manager, Travis, to explain that we were overcharged. Travis didn't even bother listening to what my husband had to say and immediately took Bridget's side and he said Bridget has been working for me for 8 years and she would never do that. Travis was so rude. He laughed at my husband on the phone, he hung up in my face, he didn't even apologize. Travis was disrespectful, so we escalated it to corporate. Kelly Lupu took over from there she apologized and started an investigation. She admitted to us that we were overcharged. She offered us an amount that didn't cover the overcharges plus the tip. We declined the offer. Since then Kelly or anyone from Rochester Chop House has not tried to make it right with us. We have been so disrespected from everyone we talked to there. This situation has caused us so much embarrassment, stress and time. Travis told my husband that this year has been one of the most successful years for the resultant but clearly it shows that Rochester chop house does not care about their customers all they care about is their pockets. Since they don't even want to offer an amount that covers what was taken from us plus the tip. Kelly told the owner their offer is more than fair and he decided to side with her - just like how Travis was siding with Bridget. We had to get the police involved in this matter. I have documentation and other recordings of them admitting that they robbed us. Check your bills before you sign it. If Bridget Morris was your waitress make sure you look at again and again and make sure she didn't try to do the restaurant any favors by...
Read moreOur visit before the last, my husband's ribeye was extremely undercooked. They took it back and finished cooking it while I shared my meal with him. Minor annoyance. Quality of steak was nothing special either. The last visit, we intended on eating at the front restaurant, but because of the noise level, we took our family to the back. We would've attempted a different restaurant, but it was Friday evening, we were starving and there was no wait at the chop house (now I know why). Again, my husband's $50 ribeye was extremely undercooked. They took that back and at that time, we realized that my son's whitefish was raw in the middle. Not mildly undercooked, but raw. So, I shared my filet again, which was a bit undercooked as well, but I was fine with. A man, manager maybe, came by after my husband's steak was returned and asked if it was cooked better. It was, thank you. Another man stopped by (we assumed he was management also) and asked how everything was. My husband responded ,"eh, it's ok". The man smiled, said oh good, and just walked away. At the end of our dining experience, our waitress (who was great) said that because of our meal issues, the manager wanted to buy us a some sort of dessert. We're not dessert people. We simply weren't hungry for dessert even if we were dessert people. My husband declined the dessert, but threw out the option of removing something from the bill. She said she would ask management what else they could do for our inconvenience. She returned, dropped off the bill, and sure enough, nothing was removed. Not even an appetizer. We love do dine out. We do it frequently. We won't be returning here to dine though. Side dishes are mediocre, appetizers (escargot and calamari) mediocre, quality of steaks don't match what they price them at. They're trying to be something they're not. We have no problem paying for good food. We know good steak and good quality food. Unfortunately, it's not here. Sad that management was OK with their diners putting down this kind of money for dinner and experiencing this kind of disappoint. My husband and I both have extensive experience in restaurant management in our past. Being offered a dessert (which costs next to nothing for the restaurant) was an insult. I would be embarrassed if I was...
Read moreI went here on a Sunday with my wife, my mom, and my dad to celebrate my wife's recent promotion and my new job. This is a tradition that we have in my family-whenever I get promoted or get a new job, we go to Rochester Chop House for the Excalibur Steak. My dad was nice enough to pick up the bill, so I'm not sure what the total was, but this place is definitely expensive. I believe my Ribeye steak was $30. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and friendly, but he was an odd duck. When we were seated we watched a food-runner bring food for the table behind my parents, then our waiter came over to our table to introduce himself and take our drink orders.
After he wrote the drink orders down he served the other table their food that was likely lukewarm at best. We were appalled at this and it was easy to tell that the people at the other table were confused as to why their food was sitting there getting cold in the middle of the dining room. We placed our orders and soon our food came and once again we watched food sitting in the middle of the dining room getting cold. I was pretty close to serving the food myself. Finally our server served our food, the steak was just a little above lukewarm, but the vegetables were still warm. The food was delicious and the steak was a perfect medium.
The manager came over to ask us how things were going, we said things were fine, but he had come to us before we stared at our food getting cold in the middle of the dining room with our mouths watering. This just seems like poor management to me-get your wait staff in order and bring us some hot food for Christ's sake. The food is expensive and we work hard for our money.
Since the food was tasty, this place gets 3 stars instead of 2 stars. It's a good thing I only get a new job or promotion about every two years. If we were regulars and we received this kind of treatment, I would probably have lost my mind.
I came here once on St. Patrick's Day several years ago and my buddy bought one of everything off the menu for everyone at the table. We were pumped to eat like kings, but the food was cold, which gave it a strange texture. That was extra terrible because it was seafood (lobster, clams, shrimp, and crab). Cold...
