Read moreI arrived at the Rochester Brunch House excited to try their food. I am looking to host a private party for a women’s group for 25-35 people and wanted to get a just on how the set up was. I asked to speak to the manager and was told she was too busy to come over. I had some questions regarding the private party i was planing. I was greeted by the hostess that explained there would be a 25 min wait . Once we were seated I asked the waitress ,that came to our table about 10 minutes after we were seated, about the taste of the latte. I told her that I normally get cappuccinos but I was new to this place and I wanted something sweet. She suggested the gingerbread (i think that is the name) latte and so I ordered it . We waited for another 7-10 min for the drinks to come and she left again. Once another 5-7 minutes past I expressed that the drink was very strong and not sweet at all so I wanted something warm so I will stick with what I know ordered another drink, a cappuccino with Carmel and vanilla . Praying that this would be what I normally had and would taste just as good . After returning with the cappuccino it tasted and looked the same as the latte strong and bitter. So at this pointe I opted to take it off the bill and did not want it . The food came it was okay because of the limited options for plant based I worked with what they had. Pancakes where very thick but the potatoes where good and freshly made . One drawback is I asked for onions and bell peppers and the waitress expressed that it would be 2.00 per option which was ridicules to me. So as we are about to close out our ticket I was checking out at the register because I wanted to use Apple Pay and I heard the manager speaking about our table stating how she should not have given me the 2nd drink at no charge and etc. I asked her was she speaking of my table she said yes and began to speak to me about being a family owned business and their policies . I told her this is my first time here and the drinks were unsatisfactory and tasted the same with different names. I also told her that I asked her to come over prior to us getting seated and while seated and that you should never be too busy for your paying customers. I felt very discriminated against and also very disrespected because of the way she handled me in front of other customers at the bar while checking out. I am never going to go to this establishment again and forget about the 25-30 private monthly brunch I will be needing for my women’s group. The message I have is that you never know who you are serving so always be top tier no matter what race, culture, religious background be Kind and...
Read moreI have gone here in the past, and have had nothing but pleasant experiences. Unfortunately, that was not the case on my last visit. After being seated, the waitress came over to take our drink orders, and being that I am above the age of 21 I asked for a simple alcoholic beverage. The interaction started off very normal, I handed them my ID and the waitress looked it over. Then the waitress looked back at me and said there was "discrepancies" with my ID. I was very confused as this has never happened to me before, and I asked her to explain. Upon her explanation, I told her my ID was in fact real, but she refused to accept that. I even offered for them to check the ID or I could call an officer to come check it, because I know for a fact that my ID is real. The waitress told us that she would "run it by the owner", and then walked away with my ID. My partner watched her walk back up to the bar and cash a couple people out and talk to another waitress but never brought out my ID, and then came back to my table. When the waitress returned, she continued to say that there was discrepancies and could not serve me a drink. At this point, I was embarrassed and just wanted to leave because I felt that my integrity as a person was called into question, and it just was not worth staying. My partner asked to speak to the manager and walked up to the bar. We got another waitress who happily took a look at my ID and said it was authentic. She even took it a step further and pulled out their special flashlight, which further authenticated it. We were offered to stay if we wanted and we could be served drinks, so we decided since we already were there we might as well just stay. Our original waitress came back up to us afterwards and instead of offering a sincere apology for her error, instead her reply was "at the end of the day, I am just trying to do my job and I'm not here to argue". Although I respect people trying to do their job, this was not an example of her doing her job correctly. My word of advice, make sure if you get a waitress that tries to say your ID is not real ("has discrepancies"), that they actually take all the necessary steps and perform the special flashlight test that they have in front of you, otherwise you may get someone that is on a power trip like my partner and I did when we visited. This place has always been a place I loved going to and would constantly recommend to my traveler friends to check out when they are in town, but after this encounter it has definitely made me reconsider if I would want to return here in the future, and if I would recommend this restaurant to...
