Nobody does it better, nobody!

Give Thanks has been Rochester's hidden gem for a number of years now. They have a large variety of unique and addictive breads. You'll swear that's someone's Grandma is in the back making each loaf from scratch and preparing them by hand. My family are suckered for the Seeded Levan, the heavy Sour Dough and the dessert bread filled with homemade candied fries and currents.

Then there are their amazing French and German pastries. Each one a photo worthy piece of art, that some tastes even better than they look. They also always have a selection of cakes and tortes that will be the talk of your next dinner party.

I suggest you purchase an assortments of breads and goodies to take home with you, but then take the time to reward yourself with a cup of coffee and some sweet temptation at one of their...

We found this place based on a Google search for European Bakeries and I'm so glad we did! We got there within a few minutes of them opening and we were already at the end of a line. There were several super friendly and efficient people working though, so we didn't have to wait long at all before ordering. We tried the almond croissant, chocolate almond croissant (which is like if pain au chocolat and an almond croissant had a delicious baby), and the cherry chocolate almond scone. The scone was huge but our 4 year old still managed to eat it all because it was "too yummy to save". We got a small latte too and everything was so, so good! We weren't even out the door before planning what to try next time. The prices were reasonable, the staff was awesome, and the food seriously blew us away. I'd recommend this bakery to anyone...

As an expatriate European I can not sufficiently describe how thrilled I am to have found this treasure of a Bakery! It is run by an adorable German-American couple together with their family. Stepping in, feels like you are suddenly transposed to a bakery in Paris with its rich traditions, and fitting decor.

Finding bread that does not consist of 90% air and bleached wheat, but instead of dense, healthy and tasty whole grain, nuts and seeds, has plugged a hole in my life that I have been seeking to fill ever since I left for the US. All of their breads are phenomenal! You literally can’t go wrong with any of them; they even have gluten free options!

It has become our new “start of the weekend”-tradition to go here. Personally I can’t ever leave there without a spinach-feta croissant and a perfect Italian...

Beautiful local European bakery. The staff makes the customer feel special and greeted from the moment you walk in the door. The selection is wide and ambience is cozy. I'd recommend the almond croissant, fresh fruit tart and the asiago cheese garlic bread. Everything is a must try at this place. The prices are budget friendly and quality is fresh. They will probably run out of stalk if you get there late which shows they only sell things made fresh early morning. I went in there first time and felt like I'm like their most regular customers. Don't miss out on this hidden gem just because it's easy to miss. Entrance is on the back of mainstream right across the parking lot. I'll definitely be a regular customer here now.

Absolutely fantastic food and fantastic people. While the place may be hard to find, it is worth it. The wide variety of breads and pastries are unlike anything else you may find in Rochester. The service is happy to answer any questions you have and will help you find exactly what it is you want. While the prices might be higher than what you will find at your local grocery baking section, the quality far outweighs this. So if you're looking for a nice quiet breakfast or if you're making a special dinner and need something nice to go with it, try Give Thanks Bakery. Also the croissants are outrageously good.
